PR3 Proxy Directory, Nice Domain

    http://www.proxycatalog.com/

I bought this from a DP member a couple months back as a proxy topsite. It was making nothing with adsense, so on a whim, I converted it to a bid directory for proxy sites.

I want to let it go because I need to focus on what I'm working on.

I recently submitted it to a couple high PR directories with deep links...http://www.bigweblinks.com/Internet/ and http://www.rhdir.com/computers_and_internet/

I also bought a sponsor link on a wordpress template, and a couple of proxy templates.

So PR may increase, but I'm not promising anything. And I did sell three links, but assume no income either.

I still have the files and DB if you want to convert it back into a toplist, it had a nice design.

I will take the best offer.

Sorry Olaf, I don't really know. Webalizer says July is 336 average visits a day, and 346 for June. and AWstats is useless, because it is counting button.php as visits.

There are a huge number of requests for that file, which is for the link when it was a toplist. That link is on hundreds and hundreds of proxy sites I think.

    Here's what awstats says...

    - Google 1341 1365
    - Unknown search engines 281 281
    - MSN 61 61
    - Baidu 54 54
    - Yahoo 53 53
    - AltaVista 25 25
    - Ask Jeeves 4 4
    - Search.com 1 1
    - A9.com 1 1
    - Excite 1 1

Server load? Your guess is as good as mine. :)

It says bandwith total for July is 5.72 GB...that help?

Ok I looked. The good news is that there are no 404 errors. The bad news is that there are 2444134 hits, and 25.11 GB worth of 403 errors. Couldn't that be fixed in .htaccess somehow?

sure you can change the response, but the traffic/load is the same. will say you have 2.5 million hits on that domain :(

this could be a problem for people with a shared host (mine has blocked my top site because of this traffic/hits)

I don't know, I guess it could be a problem, but I have it on hostgator shared. They've never said anything about it. The other thing is to contact the high traffic ones, and ask them to remove it.

Probably easier said than done though, as most proxy sites don't have any contact info. So far, looking at the top four, it would seem unlikely that one could get through to anyone. Two of them aren't even in English.

I got cheating sites with multiple buttons on their websites into my list, a bidding directory is much better then a top list with buttons

Yeah no doubt. Most toplist traffic seems to be garbage. Wish I would have know that before. :D
