[FRESH] 2 College Sites - TONS of College Information - Great SEO!

I recently made a college database, and have set up two sites around it. I am selling them BOTH TOGETHER:

http://www.college-stats.com (last week)

If you go to one of those sites, you'll notice all the information each one contains. There's a LOT of pages to be indexed by search engines.

I made this one first. It already has over 50 pages indexed in Google, and these types of sites always get a slow start. Expect Google to speed up its indexing. It's been submitted to SQUiRT ($100/mo membership fee), and I have designed it 100% with SEO in mind. See the section "common SEO" for information on SEO.

To put things in perspective, I sold a site VERY similar (almost identical) to this in stats on May 15th. It had 54 pages indexed then, it has over 4,000 pages indexed now! Expect this site to EXPLODE in the search engines.

I felt that college-stats wasn't a good domain for the keywords I wanted to rank for, so I made this other site. I redid a lot of the content and focused the keywords more. It only has 1 page indexed in Google right now, because I just submitted it. Expect it to follow college-stats.

It is designed to rank for the main keyword "college ranking" and a LOT of longtails.

Common SEO

Both these sites are rich in SEO. They have both been submitted to SQUiRT, and I will continue to do so once a month if you ask me to. EVERY page has a unique title, unique keywords, unique headers, and unique content. There is a sitemap on each one. The on-site SEO is some of the best you can get, and the off-site SEO is taken care of by SQUiRT.

As I said, the last time I did this with a site, it had 50 pages indexed when I sold it in the middle of May, and now has over 4,000! These are no different, and with the right bit of promotion they will take off. I have no doubt in my mind that this site has huge potential to take over a profitable niche. This site is perfect for techniques such as rolling sitemaps, keyword fluffing, and madlib sites. It sounds complicated, but those are actually three relatively easy methods that will get this site completely indexed very fast.

Each site also has very good ad placement, and you can expect a high CTR. It would be a good idea to sprinkle some affiliate ads for student loans in there, too.

I wish I had more time to do this myself, but I simply have too much on my plate. So cash in on this moneymaker now!

Duplicate content?

Some people are asking about duplicate content. This isn't a problem, because it's only showing up twice. That will fly right under the radar. If there were 100 of these sites, it would be different. Besides - does it matter? You are buying both sites! Just take one down..

I should clarify that in the post, also.

1. The KEYWORDS are changed. college-stats is a bit more general, top-college-ranking is much more targeted (read the post). The content reflects this, as well as the meta keywords, descriptions, etc.
2. The link structure is changed a bit.
3. The template code is changed to not look like two identical templates to the SEs.

That help? It really shouldn't matter, since you will own both of them anyway.

 

I'm not big on SEO, but I know that duplicate content is not good...and that sure does look like a lot of duplicate content to me.

 

It's not bad when it shows up that rarely. It's not like there are 60 of these identical sites.

If you have a problem with that, just delete one of them.

 

Rare is one. Not rare is two or more.

I'd take one site offline as it will hurt the other (in Google anyway).

 

Ok - as I said it's not a problem since you're getting both. It was really all an experiment for me anyways. Do what you like.

But there are a lot of sites run off databases like this, and they don't have duplicate content issues. But I suppose it's different since I have the same formatting, field names, etc..

I'll vouch for chatmasta, good seller. The Squirt tool is great, I submitted a site last week and it is #3 in google for a highly searched adult term (with no other promotion). I'd buy the sites myself, but I'm looking for content based sites.

It's pretty unique now, but I do intend on selling the database at some point. It shouldn't matter though, unless you name every field the same. Like "Size of Undergraduate Student Body:" - not every site with the database would use that wording.

They are, and will be, the only sites with their exact respective formatting.
