Apologies to all he honest bid directories and sure a majority are. However, there remains a big question mark over such directories with whether they are manipulated.

The way I see it - why pay $850 for one PR7 link in the first place?

I'd rather pay $2500 up front on a well known site that can offer at least several PR6 links, tons of PR6 links and much more.

I wouldn't worry too much. It is all a learning experience. There will always be a better way to spend your money. Just do the best you can and don't stress over it to much.

People on forums always know best. *sarcastic face*

The PR7 link in secondary as far as benefit. I would say traffic from those links is the first benefit.

If the top link sends you 100 visitors per day, after only a couple weeks, it would be worth the money. IMO....

What you got yourself into was a bidding war, with mystikmedia and MingleOn and lost. It's the way it goes and a risk that you take.

Look at my bids for directorydump and webdirectorybid and you will see I have a lot invested and stand to lose a lot as well, but that's the risk i'm willing to take and lengths to go for my projects.

What I am not getting at this point, is that you chose to bid, lost and now you are disputing your bid on paypal?

I am unsure of your character at this point, but are you really wanting to retract your bid because you lost?

Yes Matt, I actually purchased the links more so for the traffic, however the R Certainly will help. Having said this I look for cheaper pr6, 7 and 8 links for increasing my Pagerank.

Just had to up my bigweblinks bid to $1750 for the second spot

That's what I was going to say. There's a lot of benefit for some of the bidding directories. Some of them get significant traffic, and the traffic is very high quality, even more so for webmaster related sites from paying customers. The link value is always a plus too, of course.

As for Web Directory Bid, it was not a scam; the bids were legitimate. Princy and I watch the placements there closely and will bid to ensure the placements. All the listings there are mine except MingleOn.

Anon I wanted to retract the bid because I feel something is not honest here. Both times I bid and got the #1 position within 5-10 minutes I was #11. I don't feel things are fair over there and requested a refund. How can they all just bid as soon as I bid above them so fast? Thats how I feel and why I request a refund. Its up to you whether you want t issue one but I do feel a bit cheated here. Maybe its my ignorance but it just didn't feel right.

Nobody forced you to place a bid in the first place, you did have a choice.

By hitting the first page you were playing with the big boys when it comes to spending.

It’s wrong of you to question the integrity of honest directory owners and even worse if you ARE trying to reclaim the money that you bid.

    Red Sent.

    Thanks Brian

I would never spend that much on a bidding directory ;)

Actually, I've never picked up a bid directory spot, I see a few good deals for 20$ on the webdirectory tho, I might have to give it a shot :D

Ignorance is no excuse - requesting a refund because you're unable to maintain a spot on the front page speaks more of your own character than those of the owner of the directory and the persons you're bidding against.

I have invested in a couple of bidding directories of owners that I trust.

I have more important things to spend my money on than trying to outbid someone just for the hell of it, what I did get a good value backlink that I feel I can keep.

Thanks for the RED, I think you will find that I left my name to mine!

    Thanks Brian

There is nothing dishonest about me and/or any of my projects.

People watch their bids, and you have to expect a war when they want their placements.
What you did was come out and try to take all and got into a war and lost.
Bidding directories are in fact a 'risk/gamble' sort of speak and if you want to gamble it is on you to do it, but when you lose you don't cry foul, because it labels you, and in a bad way.

Look at my Bidding Web Directory right now on bigweblinks... it's #10 at $1,125 and i'm going to have to up my bid to retain my position. You're not going to see me retract my bid because I've dropped. I fight for my projects to the end.

Now ask yourself, how do you think mystikmedia and mingleon feel about having to up their bids because you bid? I don't see them retracting what they added on. They know the deal and they know the drill when it comes to bidding directories.

Now do you really feel you are justified in requesting a refund?

    Regards,
    Rob

anon, its not that I was outbid that pissed me off but the fact that all 10 sites outbid me within 5-10 minutes twice that seems suspicious, not to mention you not replying back to support emails. I would like a refund.

i dont think if it is right to ask for a refund if you can't maintain a front page position because i have to say mystikmedia (Chris Hoffman) is a very big promoter and he have a big budget who not only on this directory but many others contain a high bidded link, and from personally talking to him there are some spots he dont give up and webdirectorybid (pr 7) is one of those places.

But to clarify this thread i think rob you should post a payment ss just to clarify his beliefs so he won't point his fingers at your site again.

Was it chris who knocked him down?

Cause if ya rub chris the wrong way he will easily add 10-15 sites and you will be at the bottom in a few minutes...

    Big Bully that chris... :p

    thx

Well I have to say its come to something bad when people have to post proof, what a joke.

It’s simple if you trust an owner then buy or bid if you don’t then go elsewhere.

    Thanks Brian
