What's best for eCommerce websites? Meaning badges and whatnot to show your customers that you can be trusted? the BBB bade and having an SSL certificate is great...anything else all of you would recommend?
Having a professional looking design helps a lot too. SSL is a big one, there is also something called Hacker-Safe, but I havent tried it. I've seen it on a few sites though.
Yeah, I can't stress enough how important design is when you're dealing with your customer's money (particularly if it's anything over $100). We invested quite a bit into the design of our site (it's not the sites in my signature by the way ) just for this reason. It really helps if you have the payment page integrated within the site's design, too.
To gain my trust from an unknown company or brand, I also like to see a genuine customer feed back section.
Is Verisign also the best? What others would you suggest taking a look at? Thanks!! WPOSolutions - Thanks for the valuable feedback I haven't thought about that before.
We always display our Better Business logo and SSL certificate. We tried some additional services, but didn't think they were worth the money. In our experience, a well-designed, professional site with easy navigation and no security errors can do wonders for sales.
-Contact forms -Live chat -Toll free (800) phone number -Clearly defined policies (return, satisfaction, privacy, etc..)
A VeriSign logo is probably the best but it can be very expensive to get an SSL certificate from them. All the other SSL certificate providers also give you a logo with the SSL certificate. I think the better looking ones include Thawte, DigiCert, and GeoTrust. You could also try to get a TRUSTe logo to assure customers about your privacy policy but there is a fee for that.
