Background Story: A couple of days ago, I mirrored a story that was on Digg out of the goodness of my heart. My mirror was the first comment and ended up receiving 30k unique visitors in 2 days and got at least 100 good backlinks. Now, the problem is that the mirror isn't doing me any good. I expect that its purpose has been fulfilled because the Digg effect is over. And I don't expect much more traffic (unless the story is featured on Diggnation?). So what do you guys think I should do with it?
leave it alone and do the same again with other stories. post again in this thread if u have the same success with another story and i'll discuss big business with you
Keep on going, publish new articles on the site, and accumulate traffic via RSS subscribers and bookmarks. Upload the most successful articles to Digg and do not forget about the social bookmarks, there are many available now. After some time, this should give good positioning of the web site in the SERP, and in additions to the built audience, you will start getting the SE traffic, which you might want to start converting into the big cash
Problem is, I don't want traffic to this site. I didn't do it for traffic, the site has no content, no purpose. I just want to find a way to benefit from this story.. however slightly.
No, I mean in my stats there are visitors coming in from 100 different links. Sorry if that was misleading. I think I'm just going to wait a week or two and 301 redirect it to one of my sites.
