Crazyegg stats conflict with Adsense stats

I installed crazy egg recently on one of my new sites. Crazy egg showed that the an adsense ad was clicked on once, but Adsense shows no clicks. Any reason to be conserned by this difference?

 

Perhaps the click was invalid for some reason?

 

Doesn't adsense take a few hours, and sometimes longer, to register a click?

Sure, it is actually a really good stats tool. Basically, you install some java script on your site, and Crazy Egg tracks where all of the site visitors clicked.

Back to my original question though. My adsense account still shows no clicks, while crazy egg does. Is this something I could email adsense about?

 

What I have heard (through my use of adlogger) about these click tracking tools is there is no way to make them completely accurate. The best they can do is register a click if the mouse hovers over the ad, which will obviously lead to ambiguities. Check thier FAQ's to see what they say about thier accuracy.

 

Do you have any link units? If there is, they might have not turn into clicks on the following pages so stats won't show.

 

I don't have any link units. Crazy egg now shows 5 clicks on my ads while adsense reports zero.
