On one of my recipe sites, on the Chicken Recipes page, the layout looks a bit messy (which im addressing in another thread) However, im looking for ways to optimise this for SEO. Im getting a lot of UK traffic for Chicken Recipes and im 6th for allinanchor:Chicken Recipes What else would you do?
The outbound links at the bottom to "Credit Card", "Loan" etc probably don't help (although if they're the way you monetise the site it might be more important to keep them). Other than that the on-site optimisation looks good enough for Google and I'd concentrate on themed incoming link building.
If you want to rank higher, I would remove the 'irrelevant' links that norfstar mentioned. I remember reading a blog post by Matt Cutts where he said that the reason a particular site wasn't doing to well was the presence of spammy looking links to refinance/poker/mortgage sites.
Ok so I cant tweak these at all These are the DP Coop ads and cant be changed, should i consider dropping these?

Link building with "Chicken Recipes" should be your main concern right now. BUT I will also add in more text to the page, right now it is just too spammy for "Chicken Recipes", i didnt check the density of it, but it should be awfully high right ? I think the best is to strike a good balance .. you don't want to get penalised suddenly for spammy text. LOL, and of course to improve your CTR adsense, heh, there's definitely a lot more work you can do to it ... : ))
