One thing I like to do is be upfront, even though this may not be politically correct. I want to thank you for the new try, but it's not something that I am after. Although I can see you put thought into it (I love it when I see mainly red and white), it's a little too complex and not simple enough. It's a little hard to read at the first glance.

Of all the new designs I really like number 2 and 3. I really like the fonts you chose. They are much more close to what I had in mind. Red and white (which is what I want), highly visible and easy to read. I am not sure about the icon. I think it would look better if instead of the icon I had the words .com.au on a rectangle, or a diamond or something. .com.au MUST be part of the logo. I must honestly say your entry makes it harder for me to choose the winner.

hey, we welcome criticism here buddy, you shouldn't feel you need to explain yourself, after all, it's your $60 on the line. We get better when you criticise us.

 

Thank you for the submission The_Chemist, but it's not strong enough for what I want. I needed mainly red and white and a bold/wide font and yours doesn't meet the requirements. I must be honest and say it's not what I am after.

 

where do you want the rectangle, or a diamond to be placed?

 

I am glad you see the point speno. I haven't been here long enough to see who can take criticism well or not. Even though I must say my first impression is there are a lot of cool designers around who understand the point of criticism.

However, at the same time I just must be considerate and think "what if there is a new kid around here who may take it to heart and get the wrong idea?"

So kiddo, if you are new at this understand this: criticism is meant to help you improve not to put you down.

tomeek, the way the font looks now it looks really good, which to me that's the key. You can add the .com.au at the end of the font/text. I was just making a suggestion. You can use your own idea. It does not have to be on a diamond/rhombus or rectangle, but I'd really like to see the .com.au somewhere

The thing is I don't want to take advantage of you and get you to change it yet because I may not choose your design. I really like yours and I am considering it but I haven't made up my mind yet.

 

Thank you for your entry. I must say I was really looking forward to it. I saw one of your designs for some castle something logo and it looked very good. I am not sure how that went in the end for you but really liked it. Very, very creative.

Your logo is very stylish, but this time it's not what I am after. I was after something more visible, with a wider/bolder font. Again, the font is the key in my case.

Hi speno: thanks for the new try. Seems like you're a tough dude who can take criticism Yes it makes it easier to read now but it's not what I am after. It certainly meets a lot of my requirements (wide/bold font) but it's not one of your better designs (I've seen some other logos you did)

 

yeah i felt that when i entered it, it's just such a BIG area to work in if you get what i mean. i'll re-enter though!

Looks really good. Definitely considering it. Even without the new icon it looks good. Simple, red and white, easy to read and highly visible. It's certainly on my mind. I'm not putting the new icon down, don't get me wrong, it's just that I am more excited about the high visibility of the font.
