Im glad to not be a part of that 75% statistic. Since I like exercising on my free time and I practice good dieting.

    75% by 2015?

I thought the percentage was already that high - or at least that's the impression I get when I go out.

A little bit of fast food is okay here and there but not as daily meals. x.X

I think I do have a super metabolism I eat Mcdonalds very often because it is at my school, like one every 2 days and I eat quite a heavy dinner. I dont exercise and I am not fat, not fat at all.

    MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I used to be very fit, but now, after a lack of exercise, lost my stamina but I still can do pull ups and stuff.

I read if you eat 6 meals a day instead of 3 your metabolism will increase.
I did that when I was training. 6 smaller meals instead of 3 larger ones.

Hehe, why are you using a mongolian as nick and avatar. CONQUERER OF THE KNOWN WORLD!

you dont have to be overweight to be unhealthy
i have a mate who is 21 and eats mcdonalds and BK nearly everyday (unless hes broke) hes not fat or overweight and had to piss out 2 kidney stones a few months back... most likely related to mcd's

A meal at Grandma's house, although may contain veggies and things that are generally considered healthy, also contains loads of, grease, gravy, butter etc., and I doubt would test as any healthier than a typical McDonalds meal.

I think it isn't so much to do with the food as it does with the lack of physical movement. As technology gives us things that are more convenient it leaves us with less to physically do.

Wow 75%? that's a very scary prospect indeed unless the government steps up to prevent this.

Yes. That is true for some. But for others, they eat fast food because they over-commit and over-work themselves. They run from work, to some kind of meeting, to some other function, then out to a party, and believe that they don't have time for a healthy meal. If they would slow down a bit, and take the time to make something healthy, they wouldn't have to go through a drive-thru and eat something in the car.

In America there are drive through (or thru as they like to spekll it:)) pharmacies, fast food places, banks, car wash, what does that mean?

That they don't particularly like to get their ass up!

And Europeans? Who are less fat? They don't have many drive throughs yet, but I think it's just a matter of time...

They could, but they don't! I guess they are not planning on being to busy to stop and eat!

    Don't forget the drive-thru liquor stores! :D

When I 'might' not be home in time to eat I bring a protein bar, something to get me by w/o eating total crap.

Again it comes down to people not giving a shit ;)

    Brew-Thrus they call them.

People eat for too many other reasons than to just stay alive. Boredom, celebration, "because it's time to eat", not to waste, lonesome, angry, happy, sad, pretty much anything besides sustenance.

What are we telling are children about eating when happy moments i.e. birthdays, holidays, etc, are combined with the gorging of high caloric, fatty, sugary treats?

Yeah, that's actually another big issue, drinking. They drink too much here, and a lot of crap too.

IMHO wine is better than spirits and beer.

And everything is far away and you need to get a car to go anywhere, and there's the 3 for the price of 2, enormous portions at restaurants, and so on...

It's also in the genetics, but anyway, it's a fact that people tend to be fatter here in the US.
