I've started serious website building in mid May 2007 with www.floridabasslakes.com then www.floridabassfishing.us followed by my BANS site which is a subfolder to my Florida bass fishing site. I initially started the Florida lakes site as I thought providing maps to the bass fishing community would be a good niche and I could get income from affiliates and adsense. With further research I found that the keywords Florida bass lakes had minimal traffic. I am getting OK traffic on it from the specific lake searches from both Google and MSN. I then started Florida bass fishing site since the traffic is as follows: Google-11,082, Yahoo-5,541and MSN-2,771 searches per month for Florida bass fishing. I thought that this traffic could develop into a decent income so I used good SEO and links (reciprocal from decent bass fishing sites) as well as links that are purchased from higher PR and .edu sites. (I am also doing this with the lakes site). Well, in the last few weeks I've fluctuate between 1st and 3rd position in MSN which is great for my targeted keywords Florida bass fishing.! However, I've only could climb from 550 position early on in Google to 317. What a big difference. My lakes site also does great on MSN and is on the 1st page for Google for Florida bass lakes. Any clues on how to get better SERP on Google for Florida bass fishing? P.S.- My BANS site is being promoted via both of the sites I have mentioned as well as posting in fishing forums. Getting OK traffic from the forums, but nothing to brag about. Just have $3.90 in earnings from eBay so far since my BANS purchase in June. All comments welcome! _________________
the difference is that you created those websites in MAY thats mean that you are still in the sandbox for google, once you get out of the sandbox you may jump from the 317 position to the top 20 overnight.
Thanks Funky! I'll check on the forum for "sandbox" but do you have any ideas how long that would be?
thats depand, i'd say 6 months is the average time that you spend on the sandbox before the big Jump.
