Both SEO and PPC help your site to get traffic and business.

SEO is the process to make your site search engine friendly and PPC help your business to grow.

I think PPC is costly and difficult for small businesses.

What are your views about this?

Search Engine Optimization...making your site more appealing to the search engines so you'll rank higher when someone searches for a term related to your site.

Depends. Both are useful and both can be used at the same time.

PPC is great for marketing testing, you can't do that with SEO as it takes quite a bit to get significant traffic.

The ultimate position to be in is to have both #1 spot in SERPS and #1 position in PPC listings. It really depends how good your marketing funnel is.

All advertising is necessary if you want to grow. The more visitors you get to your site the more money you will make, as long as you profit from your expenditure when it comes to advertising, it will then be a win win situation.

PPC IS NECESSARY. Especially on brand terms. About 45% of people don't click on an organic ad. So if a competitor is bidding on your brand terms, then they can possibly steal up to 55% of your business from search engines.

Right. Also, being listed on organic and paid increases click-throughs on both.

I've been doing SEO since late 1999 and have streamlined the process to get organic search results with minimal financial investment. I didn't say i never tried PPC, i've managed more PPC campaigns then i can count for clients who actually wanted it, i said "I never use it" meaning personally for my sites/projects.

    Hope that answers your question.

In my opinion you can drive traffic from PPC but SEO optimization is still a must!
There is nothing better than a targeted traffic from the search engines.

I agreed with SEO is necessary, however, I don' think PPC is necessary. There are bunch of people spam it and yeah, just waste money lol... and as what w3bmaster said, it may be useful if you sell something on the site :)

SEO is a question of time,
PPC is a question of money.
All you need is pay something.

Seo is a long term approach to things, while ppc is instant gratification. I would suggest doing ppc until your seo campaign gets you good rankings.
