I read a post on shoemoney and one comment was bashing DP about being full of newbies asking the same questions over and over. I hope this is not the same question. What constitutes a good landing page (besides conversions)? From what I have learned in my experience and research, one thing seems to be what you see on the ringtones landing pages that say "pick your carrier" and show a bunch of images with all the cell phone carriers. This is a common theme although they all go to the same type of sign up page regardless of carrier. Another common thread with good landing pages seems to be the landing pages look similar to the advertisers sign up pages. Simplicity also looks key to me so as to not confuse the user. The user needs to have several ways to get to the sign up page. What am I missing b/c I want to build some good landing pages and could use a little advice from the more experienced affiliate marketers? PS. I'm not going to ask "what's your niche", "how did you do it" or "can I see your pages"....
Well they are mad because people don't use the search feature on the forum. I'll search something and if doesn't give me the answer I'll just ask the extended question I have in that thread no matter how old it is.
got ya... I did try to search for landing pages and didn't find what I was looking for so I started a thread.
It's hard to really tell... Experienced marketers only have an "idea" of what might work, they're not 1 shot 1 kill. Most bigger marketers will hire/build 5+ designs and let the conversion numbers speak. Just look around in your niche to get an idea of what some of the stuff looks like. I think content/copy is the most important, this is what allows you to be unique.
It seems to be a delicate balance b/t not being too interesting to keep the user on your landing page but interesting enough to keep your quality score up. After some digging, I have found the following: 1. Add an article, plr or unique, 300 to 500 words on topic and keyword rich at the bottom of the page below the fold to keep quality score up and cost per click down. 2. Build and use a 10k keyword list and spilt it between 20 + ads in your campaign 3. Get rid of non converting keywords after the campaign has been running and receiving clicks.
Hey Bluebobbo, I saw you had a very on topic article, http://www.bluebobbo.com/what-landing-pages-should-look-like-part-1/
For me, a straight forward landing page is good enough for me..for every 10 visits..4 people signup to request for information. I did one here -> http://www.biz-leaders.com This is basically to get people who are interested in network marketing. I am involved in Success University. Out of those people that signup, around 20% will actually take action and signup for a free trial. Az
A/B test with multiple landing pages as others said there isn't one thing that just kills them on all markets.
Another tip I found to help with quality score and overall campaign performance is to make sure the keywords in the ad match the keywords in the landing page H1 and text. I'm getting ready to put it all into action. Yahoo applied my coupon credit so it's time to pick my offer and build my page. I would love to hear more landing page tips and tricks. Anyone else willing to share what works for them that we have not covered?
I'm making a landing page currently with landing page keyword insertion. I'm very curious as to how well this will work for my ROI. I will be adding this to my other landing pages if all goes well. With Yahoo, I am grabbing the OVKEY from the query string, capitalizing the first letter and adding text behind it then writing it to the header so the user sees it first. My hopes are the user will think this page serves up exactly what he/she is looking for. Anyone doing this technique?
