I think that if someone wants to sell the designers link - he will succeed anyway, either contacting and offering it to previous sponsors privately, or in other forums, it's really impossible to monitor it 100%. After themes.wordpress.net's "clean up" all the good themes were gone, so who benefits from it - the users, who now have a lot less to choose from? some themes were crap without sponsored links, and some themes were awesome with designer's sold link, so why would the USER of the theme care if the designer is original or not? it's more a matter of principle here i think.

Why can't I sell sponsor links on DP? Are you the owner of this site to tell me what to do? Yes, I did tell my sponsors I'll upload the themes to wordpress.net but I did that BEFORE Matt actually took over the site! Now everybody knows that ALL sponsored themes get deleted and they STILL tell their sponsors they'll upload their themes to wordpress.net And you say they are not liars? LOL That was too funny! Katy: I don't care only about money. I care about the ppl/clients too. When themes.wordpress.net banned sponsored themes and temporarily disallowed upload of new themes on their site, I did not add it to the list of sites I am going to submit my themes to (see my last post here). I just find your comments very arrogant but that's just my opinion.. and I am not trying to argue with you. I just want to say my piece and defend my position as well. And if you do sell your designer link; I'm sorry but I will laugh with addlinkurl.
OMG guys your taking this a bit too far, we all have our own opinions about this issues with themes.wordpress.net (we hate them) but just get over it this thread is turning into a virtual brawl. Get over it themeoutlet.com will be your solution to the problem very soon

If you don't upload your themes to wordpress.net what's your problem then? I was talking to people who DO "upload" their themes to wordpress.net AFTER Matt closed the site for them. And I find it very rude, cos the sponsors actually pay (paid) for the only site - themes.wordpress.net He laughs best who laughs last. And thanks for the red, whoever gave it to me, but you know... I'm sorry but it turned out grey and I got 0 points and you got -1, congrats. Just saw timeisnow's post: You have a good point, but it may take some time to learn the coding. I'm pretty good at coding Wordpress themes and I wouldn't want to start learning anything new one. Money isn't everything (at least for me) and I think I'll just stick with Wordpress. If one site loses its traffic/popularity, some other gets it all. I'll just keep promoting "my own little WP theme site" whether I succeed or not.
Don't worry, it didn't cost me a thing. Sure, lots of peoples themes got removed and their new ones will be removed in the future, including your own. That doesn't mean you have to bring everyone else down as well if they manage to have one of their themes still up. To put this into perspective for you: some people are born with natural sporting talent while others aren't; does that mean we should go break the legs of those with talent to make it "fair on everyone"? Should we go beat up the nerds because they got born with "more brains"? Of course not, so build a bridge and get over it. Everyone else has.
Sure. Boy, you either didn't get me or you don't understand English. Please, read my posts from the beginning and stop being naive. You went too far with your talented people and all. I'm not reporting any themes people uploaded when it was allowed. (I'm actually not reporting any themes at all ) There are NO sponsored themes left on wordpress.net, just so you know. I said I think it's unfair that sponsors pay money and see the themes successfully removed after Matt has been online. And I'm not trying to ruin anything for anyone, we all sell sponsor links and we all should respect our sponsors. I don't put 3 sponsor links on my themes and say I'll upload them to wordpress.net I'm talking about NOW.
