I was wondering what you thought about the above names. I'm sure that everyone has heard of The X Files.

    Appraisals/comments appreciated.

don't be so quick to judge. I think you may be alright if you did something good with it..maybe turn it into an adult site. I would certainly steer clear of putting any kind of ad's or content related to the popular show. Thats a trademark infringement for sure. Use it for something adult related and you'd be fine i think

The X Files is not only in syndication, but, has product lines of merchandise.
They will not stand by and let you make their registered name into a porn site.
"The X', The Files", or anything similar, maybe, but not the actual whole trademarked name.
I wouldn't think it is worth the hassle, when there are so may other things that you can do.

Thanks for the comments. I thought that it could be just an informational site on it for the fans. Do you think there would be any issues if it was just an info site?

The title of the show is The X-Files instead of The X Files, which is what you own. I think there's a technical difference that you can exploit, but not sure if its worth the hassle. The .info extention alone is not appealing. However, if you did develop a site, you can and probably would get type in traffic because viewers may not distinguish the hyphen, neither does google. Having said all that, if you developed a adult site with that name, you might get unwanted attention from Fox. Dunno. . .tough one.
