Hello Friends, Yesterday I have joined this DP. And, given my intro and before leaving in the early morning I got a small project for content writing of 5 articles. Whole day i spent in working hard for writing those articles. But, when i logged in, the same client was offline so i had sent him PM and within few mins, he came online and I sent articles to him via PM only. And, within two mins he replied that he didnt like the articles. Anyways not a prob - may be any article will not suits anyone to his taste. Thats not a issue for me. But, the strange thing that felt after 2 hrs i got another PM who has sent me offer to buy articles at very cheaper price. I just wish to know is this kind of scam operated by single guy. I got strange feeling because as i was closely watching that guy who ordered me the articles and who sent me the request to sell my articles to him at very low price - both never came online together. As the one goes offline and the another one come online. May be both are really geniune but i m not sure whether here some users are exploiting the writers and later on using their articles for their personal use. What is I can do, if the person use my articles as i sent through PM all articles? Can I sell them? What if I sell and even after that guy using those articles without paying me? I would appreciate if you experienced people help me by sharing your experience here. So, that the newbie like me never get exploited by anyone. Coz you are the only one who can exploit us or protect us from such buyers. Please
I have never heard of that scam, but doesn't mean it couldn't happen. If you do happen to see your articles somewhere, report to a mod (you should include the pm messages when reporting) The thing to do in the future, never give articles or anything else before payment. Either get half of the money before you send, or get the money before you send. This way you will not get scammed.
Thanks Slacker, One thing, how can anyone trust to a newbie to this forums. What can i do? Can i sell those articles now? will anyone buy those articles? as someone has rejected those articles - however all articles are passed by copyscape and that too without any errors.
You just have to hang out, post, earn rep, and get some iTraders. Trust will come with time. But we have seen scammers here with lots of rep and lots of iTrader, so even high ratings don't prove anything. People will buy your articles. You may have to sell them cheaper now, and then raise your prices once you have proven your work to be worthy of higher prices. Good luck!
can you be a little more specific? just because someone with high rep and iTrader happens to be banned, don't mean they scammed someone.
always try and deal with reputable members with decent itrader ratings . Reputations are green globes that you see to the right of every post a member makes . this way , you will reduce your chances of being scammed. Good luck & have a nice stay at DP
I agree - whilst people with 6-7 itraders may scam others, high post count and rep is what you should be looking for in a buyer...
High i trader does not mean anything you can go in the buy sell and trade section and post 1 dollar = 10 posts at my forum, you will find 50 people willing to do this, -actually there are many more-, and after you have done exchange i trader with each of them , this way you will spend 50 bucks and have 50 positive itraders. Or even better you can post at different offers for 1 dollars, and earn money and gain i trader for free. People doing forum posting have high i trader. Reputation does not mean anything you can go to the freebies section and offer a free ebook out of plenty available with resale rights, you do not even need to write it yourself, and you will instantly gain 2-3 greens, if you are convincing enough. Now, it is forbidden to ask for reputation, but the problem is that a lot of members have already obtained reputation like this, and most of them ask for it in the pm when they send you the link for the e book. I have a method that i use to check all the dp members whom i am planning to do business with, but i won;t tell it publicly. It is much more secure than dp rep and itrader. If you are scammed because you have done a business with someone because he had high i trader or rep, then you simply are a fool.
Everybody here started as a newbie.. and everybody here worked there way up the ladder. In time you will earn some people's trust and you will be selling whatever you want.
There would be small % of people who will try to scam you in any way they can think of. That's just part of the online business. I think this is a good advice. Get your client pay small amount of money before you start your project. A serious buyer wouldnt mind to do that. This a important too. Work closely with honest member here. Don't forget to check for negative i-Trader and read the post of the member. It gives you a clue whether the member is reliable or not.
First of all thanks all of you for such a nice happening here. And, thanks kingofkings for such inspirational words. Till know, i understood only one point, better be careful then cry later. Anyways, i recently got one more work. but i m really in shock and i m unable to figure what should i need to do now. As, i m newbie so cant post any add to sell my articles in the Sale-Trade section. For that i need to wait for couple of weeks. If that person used those articles then. btw that person dont have any i-trader and even his post on any forum is hardly 2-3. uptil now. And, the articles that he has given me to write was very nice topics related to SEO. What to do now? Please advice.
My advice to you is to post more here and get itrader, and try to get some members to review your work in one of your threads. It is true that members with high itrader, rep, posts can be scammers, but it is less of a chance that they are scammers. Before you deal with any member be sure to check their past posts, and what others have said about him or her. Also check for recent itraders(30 days or less), and the business dealt with that itrader.
This person is just asking for advice to reduce this from happening again, and I don't blame him or her.
In case you missed it, the original poster asked a question which is quite valid and may come in handy for others who will be selling services. You may want to read your post again to see how ridiculous it was.
Unfortunately, that's how it goes online sometimes.... That's why they call it "earning a reputation". It generally takes a long time. I'm sure everyone on the forum has a horror story.
scammer are everywhere also here in DP. just try your best to check who you are dealing with and dont start your business with high price/payment when you are still newbie. gradually build the rep and provide good services/products will be the keys.
