Would that person have any problem developing any website? AvivaDirectory.net or Alivedirectory.net Is your domain .net/.org/ or the 15+ extension available? Just to buy all the extensions is a challenge - share your comments/tips to deal with this issue. .
its a good idea to protect ur domain by registering .com .net .org and .info (at least) .. its no so big money anually so u cant afford. i had my doubts years ago with a couple of domains and i finally did register main extensions of those .. im happy i did.
i did just that with dump actually, whenever i register a domain i tend to grab them all (most of the time) if available.
Not sure on aviva, but I know Chris hosted alive with Mia (Jeremy), so I guess all the alive extensions belong to mysikmedia.
I think that is a very good idea to register to all the domain extensions of your company as it is very good for branding also...
excellent idea for branding as the above stated - especially if your site becomes know the world over. more often than not i tend to go for the com, net and the country anything else - where somebody tries to imitate any of our sites we SUE.
imo, if they belong to them they should 301 redirect to the main domain, just like directorydump does or i do with peaklevel .. the traffic generated by those urls is yours and u want it visiting ur main domain.
