I have always had immense compassion for animals- would get upset at any ill-treatment of animals- but I would never like to touch animals. In fact whenever my children wanted to get a pet I would put my foot down, but despite all my opposition, the little Pomeranian managed to come into the household. I resisted him for quite a while, but one day when he snuggled close to me I just picked up the little fellow and fell in love with him. Chochi was the sweetest .fluffiest and most adorable dog I had ever seen and our family was crazy about him. The welcome all of us would get even after a half-hour absence was huge; when I was depressed or down just holding him would bring so much peace and comfort. He was the definition of unconditional love and loyalty. For the last few years all of us have been dreading the prospect of losing him, since he was past the age of eleven. But his end came so suddenly that it shocked us. The worst thing was that all of us were away when he decided to leave us, and so the family could not even give him a proper farewell. His departure from our lives was so traumatic that it took us months to heal and to come to terms with the loss, and even today none of us can speak about Chochi without a lump in the throat. The pain is always there and refuses to go away.
I lost my cat when I was 7, but found it again. We brought the house cat to my grandma's farm, and she got lost after a little while. We searched and searched and I finally found her running across the road. We were all pretty relieved since wolves are pretty common there
Once A bird died when I was a kid, that was pretty much it. Even though I was a kid.. but I still remember it was hard. I remember I even buried the bird in the garden near our house.
Yeah, have had dogs run away, but always find them. My current dog now knows never to leave the yard, if not, he is usually close to the house, and easy to find.
Even our dog did run away more than once; I remember when it ran away through a gate left open, and the entire family was running in all directions to look for it, we found it on the next street and while all of us ran towards it with shouts of glee, the little fellow's response was a look of mild amazement and irritation that his wanderings had been cut short!
I've lost my parrot once. I covered the neighbourhood with stickers, and found him like a week later. People wrote on the stickers "Beware: Armed and dangerous"
Losing a pet is never nice, I'm pretty sure he's speaking of lost as in passing away. Although missing pets are almost as torturing. The death of pets are one of the main reasons why I don't like getting too attached. XD
Once i had a dog - a cute white small pummerian.. but i lost him, because some has given him poison.. i dont how... but his blooodreport confirms that
We all die. Pets just go quicker. You should be happy because your pet lived a good life and was loved. Nothing you can do about it really. Get another pet and treat him like you treated the other one and im sure you will make each other lifes better
I lost a dog once, when I was 14 or so. The dog I have now does not have much time left. She has some sort of nerve damage in her neck, and she doesn't walk very well. She falls down all the time, and she can't jump up into the car anymore. I have to pick her up and put her in. It's sad to watch.
Well, I lost a hamster back when I was probably 8 years old. It found it's way into my BB gun case and made a home in it for about a week.
