your Directory traffic???

where do you get traffic to your directory???
is it search engine, links on others websites or
adword or other ppc
or any other source?
please reply in details. and also tell me how you started to get traffic?

Directories attract traffic from all sources, the more sources the better

Nothing personal i dont know how many are willing to share with ya but
ill tell ya that i have 2 sites sleek and king that are on avivas strongest
directories and it sends me a good bit of traffic...

Out of total 6123 visitors so far--

SE traffic-- 1313 ( Google 1121 )
Referral --1016
( Top referrer --www.searchenginecolossus.com -- 222 , second top DP-202)

 

I"m on target for ~42-44,000 uniques this month.

Most come from random blogs. I was chatting with a friend on the phone today and 76% of my traffic is through external links.

I'm working on even more SE traffic but it's still less than 1% of my overall visits.

 

Did u check to see what ur quantcast is like.

www.quantcast.com/[yourdirectorydomain].com

Mose of our visitors enter the url directly in there browser. Like 60%. The rest come from all different sources.

 

Not sure how accurate it is lol. Says I have fewer than 2000 US Uniques a month... So I checked a few other dir's and all of them had similar... :S

Yup cause most directories get very little traffic.

You can also let the world know ur real stats like I do and sign up for their quantified thing.

Could probably profit from the 42,000 unique visitors u get every month.

 

from other directories and other of my websites that have my link.

according to analytics:

7.12% Direct Traffic
25.59% Referring Sites
67.29% Search Engines

 

i get directory traffic from:

directory submission
article submission & blog submission
search engine
from DP forum & etc etc

 

That is really awesome to get that high % of traffic from the search engines...

 

As of Analytics

Referring Sites = 51.92%
Search Engines= 31.84%
Direct Traffic = 16.24%

And growing

 

Do anybody can show me the stats how many of these visits are converted into submissions! with referring url!

 

can you suggest me a tool to check that?

I am really interested to check that type of stats to analyze and formulate my advertising strategy.

 

And if you got such a tool, please consider passing info to me

I am also trying few thing but nothing like that till now.
