Goodkeywords.com has a nice free software. It has a few handy keyword tools built in that I use in keywords analyzer, like the key phrase builder and misspelled keyword tool. You can also use google's free tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal I have a nice little tutorial on using it here: http://bigsensation.com/marketing-b...ing-a-profitable-niche-for-adsense-arbitrage/ I was focusing on arbitrage when it was still a legitimate business model, but you can apply the techniques to anything in internet/niche marketing. Using those two free tools and your brain, you can accomplish about 90% of everything I do with keywords analyzer.
The best keyword tool is..... hold your breath..... YOUR BRAIN The reason why I'm saying this is that many people start off their ads by just looking at the hottest keywords or so called "niche" keywords by spending tons of money to buy keyword software. I'm not saying that this is wrong, but these people have missed the boat altogether!! They failed to research the market to find out what people really want. If they have done that, they will know that the niche keywords that trigger people's buying signal does not exist in keyword tools at all or even if it exists, it shows very low search volume which the marketer will ignore thinking that the market does not exists. Many people failed to realize that IM is the same as offline marketing where you still need to do research to find out people's needs & wants, before setting up a campaign. If proper market research have been done, you will know the exact keyword that people will type to buy!! By the way, Where do you think all keyword software tools get their results from? The answer is they get from google, msn & yahoo. If you are setting up adwords campaign, you can get the same results from adwords keyword tool and It's FREE!
guys sorry if my question i snot too targeted for this thread but i think it is: does G00GLE has keyword insert feature? fo example yahoo has {KEYWORD:default_text} , msn {KEYWORD} i was not able find it for G00gle? i think this could help in set up easy ads in G.. .
Actually the results from different keyword tools are sometimes subtly different, and other times drastically different. Compare the results from keyworddiscovery, wordtracker, adwords, yahoo, and msn and you will get 3 completely different lists.
I hate statistics, but this is what it is. If I was really clever which I am not since I am banned for life from adwords! The PPC for some keywords is so high that it can buck statistics when done over a very short period. Bit like a direct lucky hit! If you are right, then you can repeat this over a month. If you are wrong, then initally you will come out with a fierce arguement on how you are right, list your experience, then go really quiet. Seen it many times before. Post a picture of the Aston Martin, then get us excited! based on $39 dollars/ 20 mins $117 an hour and a selling prices of $220,000 dollars, will se you on 78 days 8 hrs and nine minutes. BUT! they have a six month waiting list incidentally ! http://www.hyundai.co.uk/ or in reality click here for new car...
I was afraid this would happen. The thread is so long now that fewer and fewer people are going to read ALL of the posts. If you go back up just a bit, you'll see I posted my 30 day results, ending June 30. I can tell you also that this month is doing even better. It's not over, but I'm up about $2k net profit so far. Here are yesterday's numbers: Adwords: -$145.06 Yahoo: -$29.85 Adsense: +$21.94 Affiliate: +$600.00 One Day Net Profit: $447.03 Not gonna buy an Austin Martin, but it will make the payment on my Mercedes.
Dang, good work there Rob. You've nailed this campaign real well, even with 1 adgroup and possibly only a few (variation) of keywords. I was recently pondering over having a HUGE list of keywords (long-tailed, low volume, cheap clicks) v.s. a SMALL list of highly relevant keywords (broad, high volume, expensive). It seems that the latter method seems to work in highly competitive niches, as you're not the 1st person I've seen who are doing well with a small keyword list in niches like Mortgage, Finance, Debt etc. Just something similar I noticed amongst a few prominent PPC players. Hmmm.....
I am also planning to start some sort of marketing promotion using Adwords, unfortunately I don't trust the system 100% with so many click fraud cases around... hopefully soon i will give a try with Adwords and an affiliate link and see what happens. Thanks
I had run a campaign on a travel niche. Ran well for 2 months and suddenly the min bid went up massively.... and I abandoned it... And this kind of campaign sure need a lot of attention.
Wow I just finished reading 10 pages err... lol but it was worth reading I suppose just the parts where rob was talking... lol Anyhow good job man I believe this stuff can be done as long as you are willing to grind for hours and constantly online checking stats... By the way when you are saying content network you mean adwords? or do you mean another network? Where are you in maryland I am going to be in DC soon haha
I used to have several campaigns with tons of keywords about 2 years ago. They ran well back then, but I have deleted them now, focusing on the narrow keywords that convert. Even in this campaign, I have dropped all but one adgroup. I started with one, then expanded to 4, now back to just one. It happens to be the one I started with that is doing the best. The other thing I've done is split test a few ad variations. Each day a particular ad will do better than another, but in the end, they all get about the same click through percent. So I Just keep them all running. Thanks for reading the thread, it's gotten very long and I know it's hard to wade through all the posts just to find one or two things you can use. I duplicate most of my relevant posts on my blog if you care to follow only the updates I make. Just drop in on this thread and you'll see my latest blog post next to my picture above. As far as time is concerned, I agree with you. It is time consuming checking stats all day. Believe it or not, I spend more time in this forum by far (I still have a lot to learn myself) than I do on my campaigns. But I took a "break" this weekend to move to a new place in Virginia (still close to DC). Right now I don't have internet access (I'm at a wireless hotspot right now). I kinda feel like Chris Carpenter sitting at the beach with a laptop checking stats, just without the beach, lol. So I haven't really been online for 3 days. Guess what? I made another $552! I got some really good questions in a pm, I'll answer them here in the thread shortly.
rob6188 good to hear your near dc lol yes its free internet in dc area haha thats what i love about it lol... pm me it will be interesting to talk to you when i get back..
1 question...you said your site is new...the initial screenshot (pg 1) showed only 3 clicks in adwords...and you made abt 12 from that in Adsense and 30 sumthing in cj. 3 click on adwords = 3 Unique Visitor ....so all your initial profit (adsense +cj) came from 3 visitors??
