    You can use IP delivery to present txt to the search bots.
    Buy backlinks.
    Create a HTML version of the site (best option really).
    Submit to directories.

    Some say its true, some say its not true. Some weeks ago I hear from some people that Google indexes flash after all. Anyway, not sure what to believe.

    Unfortunately, anything you do to your flash site to promote SEO would be a band-aid solution at best. Embedding Flash into your site for certain elements works well, but a Flash-based site is bad news.

    First, the answer is No. But...

    Because there is no associated text to use, the SEs can not find anything to index. So you have to use HTML commands to supply the SEs with text.

    The following is an example from http://www.imaginuity.com/ in Dallas, TX and they are an Interactive Agency that is Translating Brands Online.

    If you then type "Translating Brands Online" in Google, look who is in the No 1 position. This was done with the following code.

    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
    <title>Imaginuity Interactive Agency Translating Brands Online</title>

    <meta name="description" content="Imaginuity Interactive is an interactive marketing agency and online marketing firm that works with you to translate the success you've seen with your offline brand onto the web." />
    <meta name="keywords" content="interactive agency, interactive marketing agency, interactive advertising agency, full service interactive agency, web development, interactive advertising, Imaginuity">
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles.css" />
    </head>

    ...

    <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="20" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    <td width="100%" height="500" align="center">
    <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="770" height="525" id="Home" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="Home.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
    <embed src="Home.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="770" height="525" name="Home" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
    </object>
    <noscript>
    <h1>Imaginuity Interactive Agency Translating Brands Online</h1>

    <p><b>Imaginuity Interactive</b> is an interactive marketing agency and online marketing firm that works with
    you to translate the success you've seen with your offline brand into an online brand for web.</p>

    <p>We are a creative ecommerce web site design agency fusing the disciplines
    of visionary design and smart, strategic marketing with brilliant use of technology that is needed
    for translating brands online. Our streamlined, highly-effective workflow process provides clients
    with smooth, easily understood, and well-defined implementation stages that deliver projects
    on time and on budget.</p>
    <a href="/sitemap.xml">Google</a>
    <a href="/site-map.asp">Site Map</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;
    </noscript>
    </td>
    </tr>

    </table>

    Now the use of the <noscript> is a legal command that the SE's index, but they will get jump all over the site if you SPAM them.

    Second, look at the Back links http://www.imaginuity.com/ has. This took time, a lot of work and great clients.

    And finally, create a low volumn Google Bomb concept that has your link partner return the home page keyword phrase like the following:

    <p><a href="http://www.imaginuity.com/" title="Imaginuity Interactive Agency - Translating Brands Online in Dallas Texas">Translating Brands Online</a> Imaginuity Interactive Agency <br />
    is an interactive marketing agency and online marketing firm that works with you to translate the success you've seen with your offline brand onto the web. </p>

    I hope this give you the basic idea

    Yeah legitimate use of noscript can help.

    I have seen a lot of dodgy sIFR use on flash sites recently hiding huge amounts of text... wouldn't recommend though!.

    The simple answer to your question is no! Your best option is to add a bit of flash to your page (html/css)

    'coz the search engine crawl your site by means of text contents, meta tags and alt tags!

    In an ideal world, you want an HTML version of your site. It's the easiest way to rank for all the long-tail phrases.

    But there's no difficulty in getting a Flash site ranked on Google.

    I've gotten a Flash site (with no indexable content) to the very top on Google for a 2 word commercial term. Only took 3 months and a few quality links. ;)
