The site is just over 2 years old created in January 2005, with a fantastic background of stability, growth and revenue.

FortecFiles.com is well known in the satellite community for outstanding uptime during busy periods,

As you will notice on the site there have been times when we have had over 4,000 users online at a given time,

The satellite scene is very up and down, when its up you will know about it, last year we had months of earnings reaching $5,000+ I think our record month was December 05 I’m sure it was around $9,000+ and when its down its still ok as quiet months still bring in around $1,500+ but it never stays quiet for long.

I would give the site an average income of $3,000+ a month given the highs and lows.

There are many other ways to make money from this site but to be honest we have just left it ticking over, I have not touched a thing on the site for quite some time

There is a full teams of admins & mods that I’m sure will stay on as this is there hobby and in return I let them advertise sales of there receivers.

Other ways to make money from this site would be to build links with drop shippers for FTA Receivers the current advertisers do very well.

Sell private advertising I just never had the time but I have had requests from companies that wanted to advertise.

You can also place satellite affiliates on the site for example Dish Network pay around $140 per lead for there service and 80% of the users on the site get the FTA Receivers to watch Dish Network.

All Traffic is direct type in or from Google the website ranks well in related keywords.

This site has NEVER been advertised it was setup and filled with files and information and it grew by word of mouth.

The site grows by around 1,500+ users per month (20,000 approx users per year)

Other Information:

I’m currently working on the site I have recently upgraded the site from 3.0.x to 3.6.x
Some of the users don’t like the current theme that’s being used but the older theme is currently being updated to work with vbulletin 3.6.x

We have recently had some SEO work done on the site that has started to increase traffic

Also vBSEO will also be installed before sale is completed.

Isn't there any legal issues about FTA files ?

 

I have never had any neither have i heard of any site having legal issues,

as I believe the legal issue arise's on the end user using active keys,

we distrbute upgraded firmware.

FTA is not illegal !

 

How come you use Google Adsense and Google considers Sat TV Boards that host ways, files and instructions that lead to Free Hacking channels (Active keys, firmwares) are illegal and ban you for that.

 

FTA isn't illegal, but you can run into real problems with illegal firmware and channel hacks & keys.

Site seems to have changed and shrunk dramatically since listed for sale, though. Does this mean it's been sold, or is it being readied for resale at a new price?

 

FTA means Free to Air, which I think it means channels that are accessed by free. The keys in those forums are used to open encrypted channels by free. aint that illegal ?

 

its a very gray area. Having keys an modified firmware versions on your board will get you into some deep sheet. You will make good money untill dave decides he doesnt want you to any more and hopfully hes in a good mood that day.
