Nofollow is generally used by web directory owners to avoid being considered link farms, as a free submission option. Paid submissions have always the follow tag.

The thing is I used backlinkchecker which said those few links to me use nofollow, but then 2 dp guys double checked for me and said it was follow??

So is there a more reliable tool for me (a beginner) to use to check that?

Edit: I had checked with http://www.backlinkwatch.com/

    Thanks!

i think it should be used it with robots.txt and metas noindex, nofollow ..

and about if "something" stops robots .. it depends if robots abide the rules hehe.. somewhere else readed posts about angry ppl that were saying non public documents were being crawled by some robots .. so at the end if u need to really really ensure no crawling .. password protected

You can use the seo for firefox tool...It shows nofollow links highlighted in red when browsing a page. You can also turn that option off. http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html
