I purchased a new domain from godaddy to use it at blogger. I set up it at both godaddy (ghs.google.com) and blogger. Now, I can reach my blog via http://www.homeloansdebt.com But http://homeloansdebt.com doesn't work. Please help me to solve this problem. I will pay $3 via paypal if anyone can teach me how to solve this. Thanks. *Please explain the detailed steps through posting not PM. If you're the first one whose explanation works, I will pay you. Thanks.
Note: You have 48 hours to reply. I will check your posts in order after 48 hours. Only the first post owners will paid whose explanation works. I will pay him/her within 48-72 hours from now on.
Now, I can reach my blog via http://www.homeloansdebt.com But http://homeloansdebt.com doesn't work. Is it not that you have forgotten the www. in the second example?
No, I didn't forget it. This is the problem which I am looking for the solution. Let me give an example. You can reach both http://google.com and http://www.google.com. Isn't it? I should also reach my domain with "www" and without "www"
homeloansdebt.com works fine for me, it redirects me to www.homeloansdebt.com But the link you posted does not work... Try typing "homeloansdebt.com" in your browser.
Try making the domain name of your site http://homeloansdebt.com. I would imagine that the browser will pick up that and the www. version as well?
How Long Have You changed the nameservers for the domain? it happens sometimes that you can each with the www and not reach without the www. please wait for around 48 hours and depending on your Dns servers, you ill be able to reach with out the www too. it works fine for both here.(with and without)
Problem solved, I also did experience this same issue, i assume you are not in US, canada or UK.. I am in the middle east currently, when i too bought a domain, the www. was working fine, but http:// wasnt. It took me atleast 3 days plus to see the site.I contacted my webhost and they were able to access the site properly at both www. and http:// The thing is that it takes some time after you change the NS(name servers) to your web host.DNS propogation is what its known as. It takes time to propogate through the Whole internet, and at times can take few days too, it took me more than the usual 48 Hrs.
I followed the instruction and type this ( @ ----> 64.202.189.170) at my godaddy account. Now I can reach my homepage. But I see only "This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later." I completed all other instructions about 4 days ago. I will wait and hope it works.
i didnt check what u changed..but usually ure Web host provides two Name servers like mine has NS1.hastyhost.com NS2.hastyhost.com Case doesnt matter, where is your site hosted at?
Thank you very much for the information. But as I understood you didn't advise me about a solution of the problem. If you advise me to wait, I have waited since 4 days. According to your experiences, is it enough long to wait?
are you kidding me or is this for real? Google has a hosting service too?? never knew it... didnt notice earlier you mentioned it..could give more info?
When you host a domain at blogger, your site will only be www not both. I do not know of anyway to change this. I did the same thing and have never been able to access except by www. Read the first post. Google owns Blogger.com and if you use your own domain there, you will get a Google name server.
Did you ONLY set www.homeloansdebt.com's cname to ghs.google.com Or did you also set homeloansdebt.com's cname to that You probably need to set it to both, the one with www and without As, that is what I needed for my old host when I needed to set A records.
Assuming that your name was registered by godaddy. Login to your account Go to domains tab go to your domain control center click the domain name in question your domain is hosted by godaddy so you can see a selection Total DNS in the middle row. click it If your A record currently points to www.domain.com, change the A record to only point to domain.com and use the CNAME to alias www.domain.com to domain.com. as its obvious you will have downtime until the changes propagate so i recommend doing this only if its absolutely important for you. Before doing this consider that this is the common way of doing what you want to and godaddy usually does not adhere to standards so you might experience some problems or most probably none. So to be in the safe side write on a paper the changes you made and the previous values for the cname and a record so you can correct them if they dont work the way intended. Also use a proxy service afterwards like thecloak or anonymizer to access the site because your internet provider most probably has cached the previous records and will use the old values even when the changes have propagated.
Godaddy let me enter only "www" as alias name. But, may be, I entered false IP to "Point to Host Name" Godaddy let me enter both (with www and without www prefix) if I want to set the domain like below; "www.abc" for ww.abc.def.com and "abc" for abc.def.com
