To most Jews, Jesus was nothing but an impostor. Simply irrelevant!

Why does Christianity keep associating itself with Judaism when most Jews utterly reject Jesus?

    Quotes from FAQ about Judaism:

"It is important to understand that Jesus is simply not a part of Judaism. He is irrelevant to our religion. To ask a Jew, "why don't you believe in Jesus?" is like asking a Christian, "why don't you believe in Zeus?""

"The first thing you need to understand is, we do not believe in the Christian "New Testament." It's not part of our Bible."

"The Jews of Rome weren't looking for an incarnated god who would die and absolve them of their sins, because the idea of sin and its punishment and concern about salvation aren't at the heart of Judaism, the way they are in Christianity."

"Jews don't believe that Jesus is the messiah because, quite simply, he never did any of the things that we expect the messiah to do, the things that the prophets proclaimed the messiah would do."

"Certainly, there is not now nor was there ever anything in the Talmud referring specifically to a supposed messiah who was crucified by the Romans in or around the year 30 C.E"

    Also Quotes from Judaism's_view_of_Jesus :

"In Judaism, the idea of God as a duality or trinity is heretical — it is considered a deviation from strict monotheism and is akin to polytheism.[5] According to Judaic beliefs, the Torah rules out a trinitarian God in Deuteronomy (6:4): "Hear Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one.""

""false prophet" …who claims to be a prophet in the name of the God of Israel, but declares that any word or commandment (mitzvah) which God has said no longer applies, or makes false statements in the name of God.[18] As Judaism believes that God's word is true eternally, one who claims to speak in God's name but diverges in any way from what God himself has said, logically cannot be inspired by divine authority. Deuteronomy 13:1 states simply, All this which I command you, that shall ye observe to do; thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it
    [19][20][21]"

"Even if someone who appears to be a prophet can perform supernatural acts or signs, no prophet or dreamer can contradict the laws already stated in the Bible (Deuteronomy 13:1-5;18:18-22).[22]

"Thus, any divergence from the tenets of Biblical Judaism espoused by Jesus would disqualify him from being considered a prophet in Judaism. "

Speaking from conversations I have had with Christians, they believe Jewish people are gods chosen people. They believe Jewish people and Israel are all part of the prophesy of armageddon and when Israel is destroyed it will literally be the end of the world. They believe when Jesus comes back, the Jewish people will see that he is real, believe in him, and god will take them all to heaven.
Any Christians out there, if I am wrong please correct me...

Jews are also a very tolerant people and would never make a point of trying to tell a Christian that. Jews also have high morals and contribute greatly to whatever community they are in. I have never met a Jewish person I don't like, they are like positive energy that make the world a better place. Plus, I think they created Comedy Central which is inspired by god himself.:p

The Jews fail to accept Jesus as the Messiah, (they of course believe in him as a fact), this is because they were/are expecting someone to come from God to lead them only.

Of course God provided the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus so that everyone, regardless of age, colour or race could gain salvation through exercising faith in him.

The Jews killed Jesus, like they had rejected and killed many of the prophets sent by God before Jesus, as a result of their actions they were abandoned as a 'chosen people' although individual Jews can chose to accept Jesus and find the way to salvation.

As Jesus himself said (Matthew 23:37,38):-
and as Paul said (Romans 2:29):-

Please point to anywhere in the Torah that mentions Jesus. He is nowhere to be found (unless I am wriong) As far as they are concerned, he was just a nobody making claiming to be God.

What I am trying to say is, while the christians are notorius for making claims taht they and Judaism are, in essence, related, the Jews themselves believe there is no connection between the two religions whatsoever.

You are not talking about Christians. Christians have always been against Jews and persecuted or killed them. Read the book "Merchant of Venice" on how they were treated in Europe. Read history books about how crusaders burned the Jews. It was not until 1967 that Vatican and Pope forgave Jews for killing Jesus.
In many states in USA, Jews, Blacks and dogs were considered equals. During McCarty era being Jew was almost enough to be considered guilty of being anti-American and a Communist.

What you are talking about is the ideas that is spread during last 20 years by neo-con Republicans after they became dependent of money from Israel lobby groups. ;)

Jesus is not mentioned in the Torah because the Torah was written prior to his birth. As far as being related, all three religions Islam, Christianity, and Judaism all are based on the same early prophets and the same God, the dispute comes in more modern times with Jesus and Mohammad. Jews do not dispute that the religions are related, they believe the two newer religions have distorted the facts.

Prophecy from Genesis to Malachi pointed forward to Jesus and hence the Jews were expecting the Messiah exactly at the time Jesus arrived on the scene, hence many comments like this one from Simon (John 1:41):-
Prophecy that led the Jews to expect Jesus at the time of his arrival would include:-
    • Genesis 49:10 - Of the tribe of Judah
    • Ps. 132:11 - From the family of David
    • Mic. 5:2 - Born in Bethlehem
    • Jer. 31:15 - Babies killed after his birth
    • Hos. 11:1 - He was called out of Egypt
    • Isa. 9:1, 2 - His ministry affected those in Naphtali and Zebulin
    • Ps. 78:2 - He spoke with illustrations
    • Isa. 53:4 - He carried the sins of men
    • Ps. 69:9 - He showed zeal for Gods house
    • Isa. 53:1 - He was rejected
    • Zech. 9:9 - His arrival in Jerusalem on a colt
    • Ps. 118:26 - Hailed as the one coming in Gods name
    • Zech. 11:12 - Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver
    • Ps. 27:12 - Accused by false witnesses
    • Ps. 22:18 - Lots cast for his garments
    • Ps. 22:7, 8 - Reviled whilst dying
    • Ps. 69:21 - Given vinegar when dying

There are so many more that the Jews could look back on and see that Jesus fulfilled.
So he may not be mentioned specifically by name in the Torah, but the Jews were expecting the Messiah at that time and the clear evidence from prophecy shows the Messiah was indeed Jesus Christ.

You might think so but Jews don't think so and that is the reason they are Jewish, otherwise they would be Christians.

Quite true. If the Jews believed Jesus was, then surely, Judaism and christianity would be one and the same. Why would there be need for differnt religions?

The problem is that now the money is pouring from Saudi Arabia to the Republicans and I wonder how long it will take before it is profitable for them to paint the Jews as the Christ killers and state of Israel as the cause of all problems with terrorism that U.S.A has. ;)

Just don't think that will ever happen. You don't give us enough credit, besides the Jews own the American media right? While we try to maintain a congenial relationship with Saudi Arabia, they will never be our best buds. We can "like" them, but we will never "like like" them.:D

You might think so but that may not necessarily be true, true Christianity requires much more from the worshipper than Judaism does, though of course there are any 'token christians', just as I suspect there are many 'token Jews'.
Anyway the evidence for Jesus is there in the Jewish writings, accept it or not.

Simply put, for them the Messiah is yet to arrive, for us he has arrived and will arrive again which the Jews say will be the first-coming for them.

I dont think our book says non-believers go to hell: Jesus Himself was a Jew.

What a piece of crap. Judaism at least has some laws and rules about how people should live while Christianity is just a myth about a guy living with 12 other guys. You know that there is no historical proof that Jesus even existed as a real person and whole Christianity cult is built on Persian mythology, don't you?

If the dogs can become the chosen people then with right amount of money, the dirty Arabs can become the chosen people too. ;)

There is a lot of anti-Semitics in USA even today, it just needs the right type of encouragement from the establishment to come out. There are always people who are ready to hate anything and everything if they know it is OK to do that.
