How to improve my RSS subscription rate?

    Hi.

I'm just curious how you go about increasing your subscriber base?

It seems that no matter how much my traffic goes up (or down), the RSS subscription rate is always rising slowly. Seriously slow.

My subscriber base jumped from about 15 to 45 in a couple of days and then it's been going up by only a few people per month... I'm up to the mid 50s after several months.

Like I said, traffic is rising steadily and a lot of it is repeat visits so I know those people are interested in my content.

    Any advice?
(I've even got rss chicklets/buttons in the nav menu to make it easy)

    Pete.

Nice tips, I love the giant RSS button :p

Using Feedburner for your rss handling also helps.

I think you should also let people subscribe by email...

    Good tips, left a comment.

I already update daily, use feedburner and play with post titles...

    BUT!

You're 100% right about using a bigger RSS button. Mine are all small and off to the side. That's probably hurting me a lot.

The big rss button is a great idea if you know you are about to get a huge amount of hits from a digg or something like that.
