Hello friends, I heard many about the SMS Gateway.What is SMS Gateway?Did any one of you have any experience with the SMS Gateway?
SMS Gateway is just a provider who gives facility to send text messages from PC through the mobile network and on to a mobile phone.
It depends on a number of things, like the volume you purchase etc. The best i have found by far are http://www.clickatell.com They have a great rate, coverage, reliable gateway services etc. To work out exact costs, put in your currency and quantity in their calculator and it will tell you. http://www.clickatell.com/pricing/message_cost.php Then it's just a matter of using their API in your script and you are good to go.
You get a script or app that sends text messages to mobile phones via a PC. The gateway recieves that message online and sends it to the cell network and to the mobile phone. You pay the gateway provider for doing this service.
There are two kinds of sms gateway. One is a one way type that is suitable for informing people of forthcoming events or general advertising and the other type is a two way service that allows people to respond to your message; this second type requires you to have a keyword if you are sharing an inbox (the cheapest option) or a dedicated number (approx £99 per annum in the UK although some providers charge you by the month) if you want your own inbox. Both are very easy to setup as your sms provider sends you a script or though there are even some that will install the script for you if that is beyond you.
