11 Impressions and 54 Clicks - What to do?

Discussion in 'Reporting & Stats' started by Nathy, Jul 20, 2007.

    Hi,

I logged into my Adsense account this morning to see that one of my channels has done 11 impressions and 54 clicks. Now this is obviously impossible. So is it a glitch in Google's system or someone has clickbombed me?

    Thanks
    Nathan

looks like clickbombed to me, although in the past, i had one with 40 pageviews, 200+ clicks. I quickly took it offline.

WOW! 1st I guess you have to contact Google about that, that happened to me but just with 1 impression & 2 clicks (200% ctr), 54 clicks are a lot!

Impressions always get updated after the clicks, wait a bit more.

populartemplate could be right. Though its always a case of how long do you want to wait.

i would not tell you take off your site right away.
Wait atleast an hour, then check again the impression. if you still see same thing then email to adsense and let them know the situation.

Adsense realy doesnt help in these situations, I knew many people which had been banned from adsense for this, Even when they had requested for help. My best opinion is take it off the web for a couple of days if it isnt a popular website, Bring it back after and if it continues im not sure, Good luck is all i can say;).

I think I know how that happened, because of a link unit: a user may click on a link unit, make the 2nd (& paid) click, don't like the site, so he goes back & click on a 2nd link & so on .. one impression & several clicks :)

yes, you can get more than 2 clicks on link units, but i dont think adsense monetize you as if they were 2 different visitors

wait it out, let your stats get updated first, then perhaps email support about it. However if I was you I wouldn't worry about it - their algo's are smart enough to spot such blatant clickfraud - as long as you haven't clicked yourself then you'll be fine.

This can happen when the Google day changes (Pacific Time).

A bunch of impressions will be recorded on one day and the corresponding clicks will be recorded on the next day.

It you're worried, write and make them aware of your concern.

It's normal. Just wait for a couple of hours. Google update adsense reports strangely. By the next update, numbers should make sense.

Just leave it for now and check back later, it will correct itself.
