I have been working on this idea for a long time now, and without giving too much away thought I'd ask for opinions and feedback:

    Making a membership site
    - Site will included daily updates with all kinds of new information related to all sorts of webmaster needs.
    - Price will be $13.00 for 6 months
    - Out of the $13 $10 will be given away to the upline that referred you. % levels of $2 each. Means that if you refer 10 people who refer 10 people 5 levels down you make $222,222 every 6 months

    Would this concept work?

Seems like a jazzed up version of the pyramid scheme to me.

Is that such a bad thing if in fact the money spent ($13) really does get you a membership to some really really great information?

The idea was conceived not to make money directly from the membership fee but to build a website, while I am using the 5 level affiliate program as a huge incentive to refer others.

Would it work in your opinion if done correctly and marketed right?

I would suggest a one tier commission system to avoid being labeled as pyramid scheme. The products of course need to be genuine so people main motivation will be to get your products compared to making money.

Thanks for the advice. Aren't most Multi level and network marketed products set up in multi tier? Wouldn't multi tier be much better from a members standpoint?

Are pyramid schemes not programs that just pay people without giving them a product? Whereas I would be giving them a very valuable membership product worth much more then the measly $13.

Maybe you should give some freebies to get more visits from webmasters and membership for advence informations. No one will pay if they don't know what they are getting for it

This is just my observation as I have run an MLM membership site before... only a handful webmasters show interest in Networking. Most of them favor affiliate marketing more than MLM. If you are going to launch an MLM site, use products or services that are useful to networkers. Most of the time, networkers join MLM programs not because of products but because of the compensation plan.

prtt75, thanks for the advice. Actually I sort of understand how that works. Joining for the compensation plan. What I thought I'd do was to set up a really great compensation plan ($10 or the $13 fee goes to the people who referred the members), plus also make a really really good product, while also adding in another way for members to earn. I do think the multi tier will work better for me especially since I already have about 90,000 forum members who are interested in this kind of thing.
