Wordpress SEO plugins list

Here I share with you some SEO related Wordpress plugins which I found useful:

    1. Add-Meta-Tags - This plugin adds XHTML META tags to your WordPress blog. Its design is based on the assumption that the WordPress categories are used as tags, so it requires no user configuration in order to work. On the other hand, the latest versions include all those features a SEO-concerned publisher would need in order to have total control over those meta tags.

    2. Optimal Title - Optimal Title is a WordPress plugin that mirrors the function of wp_title() exactly, but moves the position of the 'separator' to after the title rather than before. This allows you to have your blog name tacked on to the end of the page title instead of having it appear first.

    3. Sitemap Generator - This plugin allows you to create a sitemap for your WordPress powered site. This is not just another XML sitemap plugin, but rather a true sitemap generator which is highly customizable from it’s own options page in the WordPress admin panel.

    4. Permalink Redirect - A WordPress plugin that replies a 301 permanent redirect, if requested URI is different from entry’s (or archive’s) permalink. It is used to ensure that there is only one URL associated with each blog entry.

If you know or use any other good quality plugins, then please share them here at this thread. I will also appreciate some rep. :)

I really like #2. I've been wondering how to do that. I will definitely be using that one on my next project.

About "Optimal Title" is this really needed?

I mean is there any reports of it making a difference?

Well the closer your keyword to the left, the more weight it has.
I suggest you use the Seo Title Tag plugin. The best one out there for customizing titles.

Very nice post, I just installed the 301 redirect and it worked perfectly for all my old URLs that are indexed.

I've got this but... what exactly does it do?

and yeah, I am new to blogging, is this a meta thing, i.e. not shown on the actual blog or... what??

got one or two other plugins that look "interesting" when I read up on them, when I go to use them I'm lost... :(

yeah, i've read it, but i am still none the wiser as to what it actually does??

does it show the "tag" show on the actual blog or not? its a simple question...

    example: Post

without seo tag - Title "introduction"
with seo tag - Title "introduction to blogging for numpties"

what would show on the blog?

    Seo Title Tag Plugin.

    Check out the picture :
Digital Point Forums... is the title tag.

I don't know if that's what you meant by "on the blog".

    Add Meta Tags

The meta tags are not shown on the page.

Is it a bit more clear?

so it just changes the page title?

    what i mean is this.

when i write a post at the moment the page title is 'blog name' >> blog archive >> 'post name' but the title of the post itself is simply 'post name' (the headline on the page itself, not in the titlebar)

if i changed the title tag (using SEO title tag) would the 'post name' change in any way or does that stay the same no matter what the page title is changed to?

sorry for being dumb, but i guess you either know something or you dont, at the moment i fall into the latter category :(

When you change your post title using the plugin, the page title will change from 'blog name' >> blog archive >> 'post name' and will become 'title tag' << 'blog name' which is much better for SEO.
