Their ad targeting is terrible, you can't show YPN ads to visitors outside the US, and you'll probably earn less than Adsense.

If you don't live in the US, you can't use YPN anyway.

Pay per click is way down (make more money with Adsense) and targeting is almost non-existent, which creates very low CTR. Other than that, YPN is great.

If you have both, use them on few domains each and you know more about them then anyone else in the universe.

I've found that some places are better with ypn than adsense and vice versa.

If you have a few sites, I'd recommend testing them out and comparing results.

The only situation I know where YPN is better than Adsense, is if you have a site which gets low paying keywords like I do. My site is mostly about music and video games, both of which are crappy keywords which give me a very low revenue per click on Adsense. However, on YPN their targetting is not very good, and I don't get ads from all those low paying keywords. In fact I can set up ad targetting and get ads from basically whatever keyword I want. This method routinely allows me to make about 5 times as much as Adsense.

I agree with that. There are almost no advantages to joining YPN over Adsense.
And the earnings per click are similar nowadays.

I totally agree with archard. One of my Yahoo sites blows away Google because of Yahoo's feature of letting the publisher do the targeting. Makes me way more money.

I just hope it stays that way.

But won't you get banned if you use the ad targetting such as say mortage and such on your website?

The main advantage for me is that I was banned from adsense, so now I use ypn. I make about the same amount with YPN as I did with adsense.

I have found YPN's customer service to be outstanding. I don't think google has customer service.

Oh yeah, google is evil, so it's nice not helping the devil (that was a joke... kind of).

As long as your clicks are converting it's ok. I set my targeting to Education and Consumer Appliances and see good results.

It is more to do with inventory. Since more people use adwords, there are more inventory with google, and with more peole, the Bid for each keywords might be higher in Google, and hence a better payout. These of course, are not the advantages of YPN....

The only advantage might be that, with google being too algorithmic, migght not be too responsive to small publishers. Like in the case of a ban etc...

Payout might depend on the traffic and context of the site.

sign-up YPN and place your ads rotative and give your decision yourself.
