what is the best directory script

am thinking of going for Barracuda v2.0 but want to know what ppl fellings are on the best script

i will be adding it to my site but i dont want a lite waite one any help would be gr8 thnaks

all so how do you fill your datbase can you buy them or i=s it a mater of asking ppl to submit

have you submitted into my directory? at http://www.stuffdaily.com/directory/?, it is running at barracuda for a year long now. support not that much, but if you pay for something you get it. if you have to fix or add modules to it like payment system, it will not be hard.

 

Looking at the demo of Barracuda one thing I notice is that the "More" pages appear to all be lumped in the same area rather than kept in the folder where the listing is.

For example http://www.demozzz.com/barracuda/demo/Search-Engines-and-Directories/ click the more info link of Seoma Web Directory and you go to the page http://www.demozzz.com/barracuda/demo/relat/related1679_8526.html ideally the more pages should be grouped within the category i.e. its URL would be http://www.demozzz.com/barracuda/demo/Search-Engines-and-Directories/related1679_8526.html

I don't know if there's an option to change it to that format or not and it depends on which SEO you talk to as to how important that structure is.

The other thing that I noticed and I'd say this is very important is that accessing a page of the demo that doesn't exist results in the script serving a page with a 200 response code rather then 404 or some other code to correctly indicate that the page doesn't exist. This could lead to pages being indexed which no longer exist.

 

Best directory script? Hasn't been created (or released ) yet perhaps???

 

I very much agree, no single best script as everyone has various tastes, needs and preferences, its maybe better to look into what you want the script to do first and then see which one suits you best scriptreseller.

 

i think phpld is very good.

There is nothing perfect 100% always you`ll need to make some implements ..

 

The barracuda script looks similar to phpLD script, then select phpLD because of it's large comunity and mods that keep coming out.
