I have just released my first version of TheArcadeScript. When I started this script over a year ago, I had originally intended on this being a commercial script; but I decided recently to give it away for free. This script is not for a full over-featured script. Its purpose it to have a simple and easy arcade script. Visit http://www.thearcadescript.com to download it. This is a incomplete list of features that TheArcadeScript contains. Support for search friendly URLs (with mod_rewrite) Flags system for games which can be highly customized for different uses Ability to search games Support for SWF games and DCR games Newest, most popular, and random RSS feeds for games SWF games served to the user using JavaScript (fixes issue with IE) AJAX star rating system Paging system for browsing games Templates system is separate from site (which means you can have multiple templates) Links system Advertising system that uses "areas" to define where adverts are to be shown Many coding functions to provide easier customizations You can also visit http://www.avidarcade.com to see more of all these features. In order to use TheArcadeScript, you must have the following on your server: PHP (preferable latest 4.x.x/5.x.x) MYSQL database mod_rewrite (optional but recommended)
Ugh, sorry about that. Don't worry, none of the coding in the script is by Scott. I made that file header for my other site (FlameGames, hence the part in there about that). That file heading should be like all the other ones that say TheArcadeScript. The script is 100% by me and no one is going to sue or anything for using it. This is just a mix up thats happened when I made a file header for phpAS, and moved it over to this script. Again sorry about it all. Also if you look at the coding, you can see that it is nothing at all like phpAS, so I don't really see how you think it could have been a modified form of it in the first place.
If anyone is still reading this thread, I fixed the issue. It was actually a case of me mixing files up from FTP and that config file being left in the zip. It was not supposed to be in there. I removed the download, and have reposted the script without that file. The script is safe to use, and is completely made by me. This has been just a bad mistake. William, TheArcadeScript Creator
Thank for the live link Smithers I don't quite have my 10 posts yet ..... =/ Edit: I tried to quote you, and it wouldn't even let me do that Darn live links lol
The phpBB attachment system doesn't care if its a direct link or not. You still need to be a registered member to download any releases. It's a simple and quick thing to do in order to download it. Also I would very much prefer that no one mirror the download. As part of the agreement to use the script, you agree not to redistribute it. After all, the script is free - why have a mirror? Thanks, William
Thnaks! I've already downloaded and tomorow I'll try it. If it fits my needs, I'm sure I'll want to buy a license ;-)
For anyone who needs a free arcade script, check this out, its great considering its the first version. Very easy to install as well.
So far this script is really great! I am planning on creating a few game packs for it since it doesn't have one yet so I'll let you guys know about it in the near future. I will be providing both free and paid game packs.
alright... I'm using it right now at http://arcade.webjedis.com tested it with one game, but the icon and the game aren't showing up... anybody having this problem?
