I agree; Godaddy is a complete nightmare when backordering a domain, I would certainly look elsewhere when wanting to backorder...

    All the best!

You can also check DomainMonster.com. They don't charge until they catch the domain. Currently I'm testing them. They haven't caught anything for me yet, but you don't loose anything if you try.

    Good luck!

I have a quote for godaddy backorder service :
If godaddy backorder caught you a domain , this means that nobody wanted that poor domain :)
But as a registrar I am very satisfied with them , but their backorder service is a joke.

I heard pool was the best also...but they also have a different biding style thing right? where the initial bid is a blind bid...you got to bid high enough to stay in to go to the second phase of the auction? Its scary stuff :D

oh, and about godaddy...I got my backorder with godaddy's backorder service a few weeks ago. It went pretty smooth no one else bid on the name which I was happy about...but now that I have the domain I dont want it anymore.

it depends where the doman is originally registered..

for example: all godaddy domains will definately go to TDNAM.. therefore there is no need to backorder at all.. they are all up for auction at TDNAM

Netsol names go to snapnames.. etc

I'm also looking into this. The name I want expires 27th august.

    Registrar: TUCOWS INC.

    According to netsol whois.

    Not sure what tucows does.

    Thanks,
    ivnj
