HI friends, I just bought space from a person who contact me via Gtalk. I bought 1 gb space from him for $30 and he made all promises with me which all others make. Upto 4 months space was fine. But after that I never seen my servers working fine and my all sites are not opening. And I tried to contact him. But he is not giving me any reply. So my all money is wasted now. But the important thing is I lost my all database which I collected with very hard work. But I think its good for me becoz i got indication at start. So, now I m looking for new trustable hosting with 24x7 support. I also want to be hosting reseller. I don't know much about it. But after reading hosting sites review. I m puzzled. Becoz this time I m looking for branded, secure and safe hosting. I also made contact with some DP hosting seller members and they give me free trial with 24x7 support. I like it. But this time I dont want to take risk(i learned too much from past exp.) So i decided to leave all this on DP members to choose a best host provider for me. I have some ques too... 1. What is gurrentee that our host provider never steal our database or hack our account? Any agreement or licenese ? 2. From where big companies take space? 3. I doubt you're going to find 99.99% uptime that can sustain that without paying quite a bit more than what most hosts are priced at. 99.9% is about 45 minutes of down time a month. Now 99.99% is about 4 minutes and 30 seconds of down time if my math is correct. To always meet that you're going to be looking at an expensive load balanced environment. So most hosts say 99.9% uptime whether they are 100% or not 99.9% is much more reasonable for the prices everyone wants to pay. So I think you should just look for an honest host. Most people on this forum offering life time accounts and $1/yr / $1/month are not going to be around a years from now. And That looks like 99.9% to me

meh, i would suggest www.hostgator.com great support and down time is minimal. atleast from what i have seen and i have been with them for a couple years now. a little more expensive then some resellers but definitely worth it. a lot of resellers probably use them anyways so.

1. There is no guarantee they will not. It would be bad for business if they did however. 2. Some have their own facilities while most simply rent space in places like theplanet, softlayer, layeredtech, steadfast ect. 3. By doing research on webhostingtalk and various other places. I would not rely on review sites considering most of the top companies pay to be placed there. 4. How long they've been in business is a good one. Are their plans reasoanble? So not offering unlimited space or bandwidth. Not offering deals that once you factor in gateway fee's they make just a few cents on your account.
The hosting topic is very delicate. You always have to make sure that you make the right choice. And let's not forget that the support is an essential part when offering a service or a product. If that is not on the right level then you should consider looking for another option.
