lol all i have to say to you ... is you are just wrong lol ...

directories aren't dead ... if they were so dead i wouldn't recieve over 1000 visits a day. I dont know what you call alive if u call a site with an alexa lower than 50k dead.

get bak to SE ranking .... i get tons of my traffic from Google ONLY... now i dont know which world you are in.

Lets look at backlinks of sites.... Directory Backlinks Do COUNT

what you need to do is bring some hard core facts to change my opinion

Directories will never die as long as backlinks are needed , If google lowers their effect they will evaluate to live.We are quicker than the average person out there :)
I have a new project of directory on a custom script I am working and I am sure that most of the people has something in their minds , too.

So many lions here.. comin inside the lions territory and attacking our cubs (directories) is not a good idea :D the problem with being redded in the directories section is that almost every negative rep will count for -5 :D

i didnt red him.. but he will have a hard time recovering from this thread!

I think he was just trolling anyways, he did not provide any evidence to back up his claims. Probably some 15 year old with a failed directory of his own.

I totally disagree.Directories are great and i think to make your site strong in Search engines you must have strong PR links or directory links.I have a site which ranks for several keywords and it have links from directories only. There are a lot of quality directories.

    My general dirs are OK.
Traffic is higher, number of submission is OK, positions in SERPs are getting better.
Also new features appears. Last is my own modification to RENEW expiring PREMIUM (featured) link in automated proccess.
And I see people are using it. Think they also have no doubts directory is alive.

    BTW
Even if all directories will die one day - still one remains: ALIVEDIRECTORY.com :D

One thing is for sure, not only do the people in this section of dp display the attitude of 2 year olds, they really can't take criticism. Shows how pathetic you people really are.

Really if you want to throw me out of the forum because I have expressed my opinion go ahead. This forum does not do me any good anyway. But what is funny is that you all are the ones who are light years behind.

The reason you all feel so bad is because you yourself run directories and find this thread a threat. I repeat directories are dead. People primarily use search engines to for traffic and not directories. People who run pay for submission directories are doing nothing but ripping of clients. I have my proofs as to why directories do not work.

I would like to see some proofs of any website getting more than a few measles in terms of traffic from directories.

Anyone who keeps up with SEO knows they do not work. The only people who do not want novice entrepreneurs to know about this are those who run directories themselves. Boy are you people selfish and pathetic.

If you mind my remarks, I really do not care. This thread was meant for a discussion centered around proofs and to help people concentrate their efforts toward more helpful ways of driving traffic to their website, but all you people could do was throw lame insults.

Shows how well your Western society grooms you.

Ofcourse you would say that. Not only does it show how mature you are, I hope your clients see who they are paying when submitting to your directory. The only reason you feel soooo bad is because this thread is a threat to your ripping of clients!

HAHAHA, you are funny man. I guess you do not keep up with SEO, do you?? We know that not a lot of traffic comes from the directory itself, its the link in the directory that helps us gain in the Search engines SERPS!! Its simple and to the point, if you understood that, then you would know that directories are in fact not dead. If you would take time to read some of the threads around here about the importance of directories than you would understand. Just get back to us, when your site gets in the top 10,000 of alexa like alive directory and aviva directory!!

I DO NOT MIND A RED REP FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH. YOU RUN A DIRECTORY OFCOURSE YOU WOULD FEEL BAD!

Boy talk about you directory owners. Your comments are sooo biased. LOL!!!

I do not use directories. Nor do I plan too. Not only are the dead they are a way of cheating search engines. Search engines want you to get NATURAL links and you people go about submitting your websites to directories for links. Talk about cheats.

Social bookmarking and Social Networking two different things

Again, you do not read very well do you? Even, Google, the biggest search engine tells you to submit to directories or do you not pay attention to Google?? I did not say that you use them, obviously you do not....what I said is that get back to us when your site reaches the level of traffic and authority that the seems to be "dead" alive and aviva directories have achieved!

This is a pointless useless thread that was solely made to massage the ego of one individual ie the OP

To all readers and posters please ignore the inate, inappropriate and meaningless comments that have turned this thread into a diatribe of worthless information posted by the OP:eek:

The posts by others are relevant and based on facts, and indeed confirm the value and maturity of the Directory Market :)
