If a page has all its links to it removed, and no PR is flowing to it, will that disappear, or just go into the supplemental index?
C'mon, is this too easy of a question that I've never had to deal with until now, or has nobody tested this out? I always thought they just disappeared, but I read something tonight that made me think otherwise... so what is it? disappear, or supplemental? :}
it probably will eventually cross your fingers or start building some links man !! stop asking silly Q's on the forum! BUILD GOD DAMN IT.. BUILD !
No body can give exact answers that will it come in supplemental or not as it is not only depends on link building but also depend on your meta tags, and content of your site. but i can say that your site will loose ranking as soon as google craws pages and check for your back links. try to post qualitative question rather than cross question which help our member to improve their knowledge. al d best
supplemental results is derived mainly from the lack of backlinks..... It would eventually lose its pagerank and depending on other minor factors it would probably go supplemental
Would you agree with the concept if one more person told you? Supplemental results are entirely due to a lack of PageRank flowing to the page. PageRank is entirely dependant on backlinks. I'm kinda lazy tonight, and not in the mood to educate for free... but I'll bet you $5.00 I can substantiate this claim. You on? -Michael
lol..i am not saying i am right. I could be wrong. However, i do not agree that all supplemental results are due to lack of backlinks. If you write a article today and dont get any backlinks. Check in google the very next day (considering google indexed the page) will that be supplemental in google? I dont think so. It still appears as a proper results. Supplemental results are derived based on primary results. If you have a page ranking higher for the same keyword, this other page will be supplemental coz it does not have enough relevance and/or backlinks. Only while weighing which is primary and which is supplemental, google gives important to backlinks. A totallly new/fresh keyword will never go into supplemental just because it doesnt have any backlinks. Makes sense?
No, it doesn't. If it has NO backlinks, then Google won't even find it, for starters. Right? Supplementals also don't have anything whatsoever to do with "primary". You can have 100 idential pages all on the same domain, and not one of them be supplemental, if you have a good linking structure. Supplemental is now, and always has been, about links. C'mon, bet me. It's only $5 -Michael
lol.i dont mind betting but its uselss. I never bet even in real life. Its good if i learn something or you learn something from this discussion. Hopefully your motive is not to make money now since you said, backlinks has everything to do with supplementary. i guess you forgot that you posted another thread claiming you are ranking no.1 for that $13 billion story. your thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=406302 its time to party, you are not in supplemental according to your theory you should have been? maybe sergei brin asked his engineers to pass special love?
Always. What the hell are you talking about? That page isn't supplemental, that page has backlinks to it... what does that page have to do with this discussion? -Michael
cool down mic that doesnt answer my question. remove all the backlinks to that page (if you can) and i can stil tell you it will be in google without being flagged as supplemental.
No, dude, you're getting random here, and not making sense. 1) What did the page that made it to #1, which has plenty of backlinks, have to do with this discussion? 2) You can NOT tell me that it wouldn't go supplemental, because it would. You have no clue whatsoever what you are talking about. -Michael
