    My desktop has had 2 gb of ram for a bout 2 years now.

    I also recently upgraded the laptop to 2gb from 512 as well. Ram is the most important upgrade for a computer. I know some would save video card but in terms of performance difference ram should be upgraded before anything else is considered.

    When I upgrade to Vista when SP1 comes out... maybe SP2 I will upgrade to 8gb ;)

    2 gigs woot for me. I am a gamer, so I need the ram. I can run photoshop, firefox, msn, aim, CSS with no probs, but my processor is good too.

    4gb, Dell was having a special offer when I bought mine. I upgraded from 2gb to 4gb for about $250. I'm expecting this computer to last a while, so it might come in handy down the road.

    And plus it makes me feel special :)

    ive just read in pcworld magazine that upgrading your ram.. 1gb, 2gb, 4gb doesnt have that much effect on windows vista. very minimal..
