I am playing with drupal some....hard learning curve...almost too flexible when you get to using views and cck its like...here is drupal, then when you really use views you are basically rewriting every url in the temlates to get to the page you want etc i used to enjoy the community at joomla but everyone is fussing just wrote a super friendly seo template combined with joomlaatwork seo mod and accessible joomla and getting some great results
well there are three sites that all have a test piece it consists of using a latest joomla then installing the joomatwork patch then replacing it with the accessible joomla files that make sense i mean who cares if your admin area is coded without tables also there are some things they changed that should remain tables then i have developed 3 templates but i haven't styled them so they are really like site frames 1 horizontal manu with the body before the columns in the sources oh and they are all flexible meaning if left and right modules are turned on then it is 3 column if left.... if right....if none...you get the picture all the article titles use h2 tags so you can then place an module in the top module positon choose no title and put a custom h1 tag then your h3 tags of the module will appear after content which is after the h2 tags the template i am working on tonight places the horizontal menu after the source and the columns....... ill finish it up and post it soon for ya here is part of it (you have to include the .php) http://www.netentropy.com/index.php here is the other part www.simplyjoomla.com
Ive just started using Joomla about 3 month ago and I was amazed at the ease of use, as well as the extensive Component, Extenstion and Mambot library they have for almost any feature you are looking for. I have had the fortune of speaking with Christopher Justice one of the board members of Joomla, and he has told us that there will be even more upgrades in the next release.
I've got a question.... I'm using Wordpress on my sites (it was the first thing I got my hands on and now I am literally starting to regret picking it ).... Is there any way to port my DB to Joomla without losing categories/articles/permlinks structure/etc?
i was using mambo and when joomla has started , i have started to use joomla. shortly i'm using joomla for years
I started with Mambo and migrated to Joomla ( 1year ago). I have more than 10 joomla site, now i run Joomla show case site http://joomlapoweredsites.com (PR 5) and indonesia joomla topsites http://top.indojoomla.com
That's probably a question for http://forum.joomla.org/ I personally have never seen any mention of a migration tool. ~C
I guess I am the only one who thinks joomla is an unaccessible mess lol.. I have however used it for a few misc. projects. It's good for something quick and dirty if needed. Nigel
I found postnuke's admin panel to be easier to work with. Joomla kinda confused me; however, the support and community for joomla is much better.
