Not using something to protect me from spammers. I got so many spam submissions I thought about not having a directory anymore
I wholeheartedly agree with being professional enough and finding the time to email unpaid submitters, because things do happen. I had a submission just yesterday that fell into this category. The submittee was emailed, promptly returned email, was asked if they would like to be left on hold and also provided the url to payment. They requested a hold, I responded letting them know submissions remain in queue for 3-5 business days, afterwhich they are removed(for clarity purposes). Today, received the payment, link is approved, everyone is happy
#1 using a dump #2 starting too many directories without understanding the time and resources needed to maintain them.
This is a really great thread. Have any of thought you wished you created a "niche" directory? for instance, sports or computers instead of a general one? or vice versa?
I haven't thought that regarding my current ones that i setup but i have decided that il probably setup a few niches as opposed to more general directories this year, i have a few niches in mind.
