I've a new section on my forum, where people can tell about their website (200 words or more).
It's basically free advertising for everyone.

Is it okay to put this in the freebies section?

i think "Freebies" section is not for promoting ur own site which i believe has been carefully disguised into "free advertising"

    It's not carefully disguised.
Would i be asking it if I carefully planned this evil scheme?

I'm just giving everybody an opportunity to promote their website by writing an article about it.

If you are posting the article for free without any obligation to register or join than it would be considered a freebie. However, if you say someone must register as a member and than they can post an article on your forum than it would not be a freebie, it would be trying to promote your site and build your forum.

Since most likely they would have to register as a member first, I would say no to the freebie.
