Mysteries over google search engine ranking system

There are lots of points noted, especially after google filed and released their patent recently.

Obvious points noted are: key words in Title, URL name, font size, just nice repetition of key words, links to the site (from good sites especially), good links from the site, just nice number of links a page, etc...

Okay, i've learnt some of these and tried to adapt to them wherever i can. And luckily i saw my site up-rising in the google search results for certain keywords. cheers~1

Now comes the tricky problem.. there are some days when my ranking suddenly drops to hell.. what i mean drop to hell is.. originally for certain keywords searched it appear on the first page, and suddenly i cant find it even till the twenty sth page.. and that happens in just a short period i believe. and then i have to put in lots more efforts to raise it bit by bit.


Is there any other crucial "secrets" i dun know about their way of ranking? or this just happens all the time?

That might due to the domain age.. new domains tend to fluctuate more often in the rankings..

 

oh.. but mine is a blog. yup, it's created just 2 months ago.. maybe. still a baby in the community..

For my particular niche they are using the results from several weeks ago at the moment.

 

another to add in.. how frequent you update. and better keep a regular update rather than a period of deadness and a sudden lots flow in
