What a great post. You made some really good points, especially about winning the "hearts and minds" of the people.

The thing we have failed to understand is that there are three large populations, the Kurds, Shiites and the Sunnis that have a long adversarial history. Saddam kept them in check by his overpowering Regime, once Saddam was removed they were free to go back to what they have been doing throughout their history. We cannot change that or unite them. There was no exit strategy for this war and we are paying the price for that now.

One more question WebdevHowto before I go to sleep.

I am not milking this or trying loaded questions but it's good to have a guy on the ground, a guy that's been there and knows the score unlike some of the idiots here that would stick their head in a bucket of shit if Bush told them to.

Would you say that the time you served, your comrades served and the troops serving there now has done anything to help protect your own country?

What you don't understand is the simple fact that gtech and his buddies hate U.S. Constitution as much as any terrorist or possibly even more.

Here is a link to a post of mine in defense of habeas corpus and U.S. Constitution nearly 2 years ago that Gtech still tries to use as a proof that I am pro terrorist because I believe in law and the rights that is guaranteed by U.S. Constitution to all citizens.

I cannot speak for anyone else, this is only my opinion. My experience is that I did things in foreign countries that I am proud of and believe that I made a positive difference at least on some level no matter how small.

I think the troops are doing the best job they can do given the situation they are in. If they have failed to protect our own nation that is on the shoulders of the administration, and not on the shoulders of the troops.

I don't care what anybody says, or what ridiculous evidence you have to back it up. The government was NOT, i repeat not behind 9-11. Why would America murder 3,001 innocent lives just for the hell of it? It's ridiculous to think that, and its extremely disrespectful to those Americans that were lost that day and the police officers and firefighters as well. Not to mention the huge population of family and friends of those who were lost of that tragic day. How could you think that?

Let's clear some of this up. WebdevHowto, the below comment stands.
There's a reason for this. As you can see, the anti-America crowd (AGS, gworld, AC) have one and only one interest in you. They perceive that since you are against the administration AND have served, you will serve as a backup mouthpiece for their oft anti-American and pro-terrroist comments here. These range from from gworld starting a post seeking sympathy and support for an al qaida terrorist (and as recently as yesterday, reaffirming he still supports the terrorist), to AGS supporting hamas and openly admiring a man that calls for Jewish genocide, defending bin laden and defending Iran for illegally detaining his country's soldiers. To AC, making excuses for terrorists at every turn.

In their eyes, you are a tool for their cause. Nothing more. As gworld has demonstrated, he has no issues in bashing US soldiers. But, when they are tools for his anti-American cause, he will use them to his advantage. Nothing is more evident than this response I made to gworld, when he was attempting to use a General as his tool for anti-American propaganda. My comments to him there hold true today.

I very much support the Constitution. What gworld is trying to do, again, is hide behind our country's Constitution to mask his support for an al qaida terrorist named jose padilla. gworld only pretends to care about the Constitution when it comes to protecting those he supports.

This is illustrative of gworld. He knows that I was a Sergeant, but his hatred for US soldiers reduces him to forgoing his integrity. If you happen to cross the line, this is what will happen to you as well. Throughout 2005 and part of 2006, I spent a great deal of time countering gworld's many posts bashing US Soldiers at every turn. Then he took a break for a while to bash dmoz.

As I noted above, this is really all AGS, AC and gworld are interested in. You, as their tool, as AGS illustrates.

Agreed. I've communicated this to gworld in the past. Somehow, he believes being a Corporal is some sort of embarrassment, so despite knowing I was an E-5 Sergeant, he resorts to referring to me as a Corporal. I've explained to him that Corporals are very rare and that the few who are given this rank are typically in combat units, demonstrated superior leadership skills and are filling a void for a shortage of NCOs.

To answer your question, I was in the US Army. I got out in April of 1990. Was 18 months into a four year Recruiting assignment. The choice was to re-enlist into Recruiting or get out. I was ready to move on.

This will be a good opportunity for gworld to demonstrate his hatred for US soldiers again.

Thank you, well said. AGS has often brought this up and forum members such as Lorien, Latehorn, Mia, myself and others have exerted a great deal of energy countering these claims with solid facts and evidence. When AGS is cornered with evidence that unquestionably counters his claims, he will run and hide and avoid any further comment. Then two or three days later, say the same thing again.

He is not interested in the truth. It's part of his pro-terrorist propaganda program here. If you watch his posts, especially when a terrorist attack takes place, AGS will be the first person to rush to the forum and create a post in SUPPORT of terrorists, trying to absolve them of their crimes. Of course, one can do a search for the term al-CIAda here in this section, to see just how many times and to what level of effort he has gone to, to absolve terrorists of their crimes.

It's really sad too. This is what happens when young angry white males with low IQs and low self-esteems let con artists like alex jones, john conners and others who create *for profit conspiracies* for the weak minded.

Bill O'Reilly isn't openly admitting he supports hamas and a man that repeatedly calls for Jewish genocide, buries women up to their necks and stones them to death for the crime of being raped nor is arresting women for wearing non-islamic clothes. Nor has O'Reilly created a thread seeking sympathy and support for terrorists.

Using O'Reilly as your shield to cover up your support of these things doesn't work.

Just to be clear, I am no one's tool. I posted in this thread because of the topic and wanted to share my opinion on the matter. If my opinion on the topic happens to be congruent with some of the members you have an issue with that is not my problem. I am not their mouthpiece, nor will I be. I will continue to share my opinions and I hope you do the same. We may agree on some issues and disagree on others, but I respect your right to your opinion and I hope you afford me the same respect.

Thank you for your service as well.
