I wonder if anybody has some experience with the traffic from social bookmarking and its effect on your AdSense revenue. I've just started to use social bookmarking as my CTR has been pretty good and all I need was more traffic! (I thought that's the answer for my AdSense income to increase.) Well... after I started to use social bookmarking... those pages I applied social bookmarking attracted traffic but the CTR for these pages dropped dramatically. Has anyone experienced the similar thing? Do you know how I can utelise the traffic from social bookmarking?
i've been on the front page of Digg twice, gotten some GIANT stumble-storms from StumbleUpon, and gobs of traffic from Leenks.com... CTR and earnings from all of them were horrible. Organic traffic is the best for earnings..
Social bookmarking traffic- Horrible CTR, Horrible CPC and Horrible eCPM thats the equation. No traffic can beat organic traffic. Period!
I've never had good results with social bookmarks or stumble apon. I guess it's just not relevant enough?
You think someone pressing a button is looking for any specific information. The whole ideas of stumbleupon is in their name, try reading it harder. Stumple Upon- Stumbling can't be targetted
Social bookmarking traffic is always targeted and quality traffic. It gives you the best idea whether you should change the ad types of implement ads with content.
Social bookmark sites users are ad blind.... I have lots of traffic from stumbleupon and bad CTR, Im sure there is a way to earn from that traffic, but havent found it yet
Correct..!! The social bookmarking traffic is actually quality traffic but due to the ad blindness of web-savvy people like us, visits are not converted into ad clicks.
I used to use one of those 'Myspace Adders' and got a few myspace accounts up to approx 1000 friends, and whenever I would comment all my link for my MFA sites I'd see a direct increase in revenue
Traffic from social bookmarking sites are organic and good for adsense. I was getting a huge traffic from Digg and StumbleUpon and that converted well for me.
The key to social bookmarking traffic is the same as any other traffic. If you have good content that interests the reader, they will stay longer and increase your chance of them clicking a link or signing up for something. The big key is that traffic is traffic and you may less earning per visitor than from someone searching the search engine but you also get a lot more traffic over all from social bookmarking sites. Almost all my traffic comes from Stumble Upon and it gets my site viewed and increases my earnings.
Hmmm... There seems to be two types of people... the people who thinks the quality of social bookmarking traffic is not what we are looking for and the people who thinks they'll bring quality traffic. If social bookmarking traffic works for some sites, what are we who believes didn't get quality traffic from social bookmarking doing differently? What is the key to use social bookmarking traffic successfully? One of my pages CTR went down from 61.29% to 8.06% since I started to use social bookmarkings... so I assume that I was placing ads correctly and the problem is the quality of traffic...
