How Is Click Fraud Measured

    Hi

We have been experiencing a large number of clicks on our ads but no conversions. Normally we do have a good conversion rate. Nothing has changed in our ads and then all of a sudden over the last two weeks our budget has started to run out. I have my suspicions that one of our competitors is clicking on my ads.

Can someone tell me how exactly click fraud is measured. There is the obvious click fraud that can be measured - multiple clicks from the same keyword and form the same ip address. However, what if someone has a list of 50 keywords and enters them over a day? How do you track these events?

If you are using content network, I suggest you disable this feature as there is lots of fraud on content network going on.

Thanks, but I have the content network switched off - this is why I am trying to understand about how it registers different variations of keywords

I think you can report this to the google adwords team. If the bulk of traffic comes from a pool of similar ip, no matter which time of the day, google should be able to identify this as click fraud and do an adjustment of the cost incurred.

If you can product a list of recent visitor to your site to google, I believe you have a strong case.

Yeah you're right. You have to provide with evidences of fraud like your weblogs showing this click fraud. Because otherwise you'll be told that ADWords systems have already filtered what they could technically. So you'll dsave time by providing them directly with this information.
