Can someone explain to me how Stumble works? I know you install the toolbar into your Browser, but what do you do to get yourself traffic to your site?

    Thanks
    Ben

Stumble is basically a social book marking website. You just are basically sharing cool websites you have found with others.

Well you can buy ads from them:

    http://www.stumbleupon.com/ads/

Or you can join and stumble your own sites and hope other folks like them and stumble them as well... etc.

Idk about you guys, but Stumble has given me huge jumps in traffic. I'm talking after I make a blog post and stumble that I like it..... I'll get 100 visitors over the day on that topic. Problem with stumble is, I don't think many visitors are staying and subscribing or even clicking a few ads.

Well if Google doesn't like myspace type traffic would Google like stumble traffic ? specially if there's a sudden increase of traffic ?

I don't think google has a problem with stumbleupon. You should be fine with it.

I see the same thing. When I stumble it usually gives me BIG traffic spikes immediately from the stumble network of users, but the stumble traffic does NOT convert. I don't really mind though since I mainly use stumble to help with indexing and not directly for traffic from the stumble network.

Well, that would mean that anytime a site is featured on Digg they would be in danger of getting banned, which doesn't happen.

The basic steps are as follows:

    1) Install the stumble toolbar
    2) Go to a web-page that you want to share (promote) to the world.
    3) Click the "I like it!" button on the toolbar
    4) When the stumble window pops up, fill in the "tags" section with words/phrases that accurately describe what you are sharing.

    Simple.

You download the stumble toolbar and then install it and then browse the internet the way you normally would, but if you like a site that you approach you then press the thumbs up and if you dislike a site it's a thumbs down.

stumble is a social bookmark site which is based on the votes which you get from the other members. more vote from the other will bring you more traffic
