I have a site that I just launched not to long ago and of course I have a pagerank of 0 right now. I have been doing alot of SEO work and have managed to get a few keywords to show up on page 1 of some google searches and I've got about 150 links into my site now but most of it is freebie stuff I've done for my site. Alot of link exchanges, signature links, paid ads promoting us, social bookmarking, etc...I am curious if by adding in some paid listings to some big directories if their backlinking will give me a quicker pagerank. Thus far the three I am considering paying are bigweblinks.com forplex.com linkrain.com All have high pageranks so I'm hoping that will rub off on me, the little guy lol. Also, how many of these should I actually pay for? Is 3 enough or is there really never a time that enough is enough?
Those are good directories. But nobody can tell that what will happen on next PR update. You can wait for PR update or try more if you have funds.. Thats always true
how often do pagerank updates happen? Do you have an suggestions on others to list with? (thanks for the response btw)
Submit to the Best Web Directories: http://www.avivadirectory.com/strongest-directories/ How many directories is enough? Well sky is the limit but I strongly suggest you every directory on the above list.
Keep in mind, purchasing links right now may not impact your PR rating this go around. Late July usually brings an update, but many think the actual data is gathered much earlier in June or even May.
so its likely that when pageranks are updated I'll have a ranking of somekind. Like I said, I've submitted to a ton of free listings and put the name out there as much as I can but I was under the impression that pageranks updated often and was concerned why I still dont have a ranking. I'll continue doing the freebies (atleast the ones that are decent) and when I have the funds I'll pay for a few of the above listings to
i agree..submit to alot of different, quality directories..the more eyes that se your site, the more, hopefully traffic to your site
- You won't get it quicker just may get it higher. Page Rank Toolbar has been udpating around every 3 months.
All great directories. I will be in all 3 one day too. Right now I am in forplex.com and all I can tell you is that you can not go wrong. Great directory, great owner. It will be a super investment for you.
Your site probably already has a small pagerank, but Google won't reveal what it is until the next PUBLIC update, which is expected in about one or two weeks.
If your main purpose is link building than you should not limit number of submissions to only few directories. Link building must be a permenant process. The more links you have the btter for your site(s).
Indeed, link building is an ongoing process. Its a combination of both quality and quantity. For the quality submit to those higher PR site, those that you mentioned as well as some of the strongest list which can be found on the aviva blog. In regards to the quantity visit somewhere like directory critic and check back every couple of weeks to gradually build further backlinks from the listings that are added on a regular basis.
Your pagerank is constantly changing all the time. Every time Google crawls your site it will be adjusting your site rank! The pagerank in your tool bar is just a snapshot of your site pagerank at a specific time in the past and has nothing to do with your "actual" real-time pagerank (unless a toolbar update has just happened that day) So even if your site is a few month old and google is crawling it, it will have a pagerank even if the toolbar says 0
