Subdomains? Pros? Cons?

    On my website I have 29 cities. Each city is a subdomain. Is this a good or bad SEO idea. I am considering gathering them all into one large website. What are the advantages or disadvantages of Subdomains. I have been told that search engines are suspicios of subdomans as possible spam.
    Your advice please.

    One of the advantages that come into my mind right now is that it would be easier to promote subdomains than totally separated sites.

    it's a bad idea because every subdomain is a new domain because of this , ypu will have 29 different web sites.

    it's better to use a subfolder like sitename.com/folder1/

    i agree with trichnosis.. it's better to use subfolders than subdomains..

    Each sub domain is a separate entity. You need to promote each and every sub-domain separately.
