How much is the media controlling our minds?

I stopped watching tv a while ago, and when I do occasionally sit down and watch some, I can now see what a load of bullshit it really is.

Turn off your tv for a month, and when you watch it again you will be amazed at how you notice things about it.

If tv is bad for me, imagine how it affects children.

Right, interrupted by prayer sessions, long speeches by Muslim leaders and all full of hatred and a neverending focus on Israel, the U.S. and the U.K.
None of the news related to that are ever accurate. You always see Palestinians on it complaining about Israel. Palestinians are being used to incite the whole Muslim world against the west.

 

Do those channels show you this?

 

It's not about political correctness, it's just that the government lacks authority to do that, at least here in the US. The Congress would have to abolish the Constitution first. They can condemn a media outlet of course, but not ban it

No, they really don't that I have seen. They present it as a battle where both sides have commited atrocities. Very sad.

That's the problem. I have met Kashmiris.
The battle is between the freedom fighter Kashimiris and Indian troops.
But I don't think raping women is such a good strategy of the troops, is it?

 

If you do your homework behind these and other major broadcasters then your research will show that they are all funded by the same people.

As with anything in life, if someone is funding your existence wouldn't you feel compelled to be sympathetic to their cause and, in this case, report the news with a certain bias?

From my point of view the news in the UK is utter rubbish and a lot of it is totally unbelievable. Unfortunately, there are too many couch potatoes who have been so dumbed down by the tv that they will believe any and all propoganda that's displayed on it now.

 

I think the media controls ALL of our lives on a daily basis, even if it isn't directly (eg: Through your friend)
I know some of tv airing are bs, and most of the others are exaggerated, but in the end what can we do about it?
