I've spent two weeks tweaking and designing my blog theme to make it look the best I can. Everything seemed fine until I viewed the site on my dad's PC yesterday and the layout looked pretty distorted. The header image was cut off short, and the footer bar wasn't inline with the rest of the page. The URL is: http://tupac.abstroose.com Can you post how the site looks with your browser, OS and res? Thanks.
Thanks, I'm also on XP and it looks fine on 1280x800 and 1024x786. My dad's PC is also 1024x768, but his O/S is Vista. Would that make the difference?
I don't think it should, I'm pretty sure just the dimensions although the browser could affect what it looks like. I'm using Firefox
Thanks for all the comments. I didn't think it would make any difference viewing it on Vista or XP either. Great news to see it looks fine in FireFox because I've only ever tried viewing it in IE. Perhaps I'll have to edit at so it looks okay on my dad's PC and then see how it looks on mine..?
Yeah, windows Vizta is fine (not currently on it now, but checked it out on my friends PC) But in XP, Firefox shows the footer as a bit out. Hope I've helped.
Hm.. not so fine here. The header is cut off ("Tupac" is cut off). The letter "m" in the url in the right top corner is cut off as well. And I have the footer problem you've already mentioned. I'm on XP, 1280*800, IE7.
Hi - looks really good from here - love the design at the top and the colours go well - it feels very chilled. Nothing missing or cut off. I've got Windows XP, IE 7 and 1024 X 768
FireFox 2.0.0.4: Footer too wide at bottom. Shrine is missing from the header and Tupac is half shown. Internet Explorer 6.0: Looks fine. Internet Explorer 7.0: Footer too wide at bottom. Shrine is missing from the header and Tupac is half shown. Safari 3.0.2: Footer too wide at bottom. Shrine is missing from the header and Tupac is half shown. Opera 9.02: Footer too wide at bottom. Shrine is missing from the header and Tupac is half shown. 1680x1050 screen resolution. win xp sp2
Okay thanks for you help everyone. And espcially ansi for that detailed reply. But I have no clue where to start and try and fix those common problems?
Find a friend who's got that problem, get in touch with him via an instant messenger, then start playing with header's dimensions (make sure you define both width and height) and ask him whether he can see any changes.
