Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

From my past experience it does happens once every three months.

 

The homeland chief has a "gut-feeling" that the "United States" is going to get attacked this summer.

Hopefully "gut-feelings" just remain that.

 

It should be in August, thats what many people have been saying. If thats right, your 7 day rule will be wrong

These 'quarterly' events are only PR toolbar updates - a snapshot of what's already driving your SERPs > visitors > conversions > SALES <<<<< this is the important bit, not a green bar!

Hi its not only the toolbar its what most webmasters wait for everytime, to see if there hard word has paid off.. We have to love google

 

But that's it - surely you measure results of hard work in terms of higher rankings for your search terms - PR is just a crude measure of trust.

 

where did you read it from? any referance from top seo experts?

 

PR doesn't really matters unless you are planning to sell the domain to a noob or if your main source of income is link selling. Traffic and how that traffic converts is the criteria of success.

 

Yes but obviously it would be both. wouldnt you love to have high search terms and high PR it would be every webmasters dream to have top 10 rankings for there keyword.

And i think people that that PR means nothing, to be honest I think that is mainly how google work out your positions for example if a dating site had a PR2 it certainly would not rank high for keyword such as online dating. But if it was PR8 or 9 that is googles indication it is important and would obviously rank higher...

So in our own way PR gives us an overall score of our rankings if you know what i mean

 

Well, i believe PR update will be happen in between 2 weeks.
so lets see, what happned....

 

My blog has a toolbar pr of 0 and I doubt even in the next update it would be higher than DP's pr, yet this is what google has to say http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...&q=.info+domains+bad+for+SEO&btnG=Search&aq=t

 

Well, i would say that it is not exactly true that PR doesn't matter. PR would not matter if you did not worked around to seo optimize our website. Take it this way, you and your competitor target the same keyword or keyphrase, both of you have the same amount and quality of backlinks, both of you have seo optimized the same way your site, you have PR4 (medium trustworthy site to Google) and your competitor has PR2 (low trustworthy site to Google)..who do you think will have better SERPs placement and organic traffic results?

Anyway, as far as it regards the PR update, you can't really tell the exact date, we can presume and try to predict when it is going to happen. It usually happens every three months, but remember the dates of the last two PR updates?

 

My point is that you can't judge success solely from PR - particularly if you are in ecommerce. For me, it's all about sales and they come from high SERPs conversions. Your SERPs are being influenced by constantly changing PR all the time - this is why you don't notice an improvement in SERPs each time the PR toolbar updates.

 

PR is just one of the 100s of factors that google considers while ranking a website for a particular keyword or phrase, I have seen website with low PR outshine sites with higher pr in serps.

 

Ok who would actually type this .info domains bad for SEO into google to visit your site its totally useless.

Iv just checked on my keyword checker and there was only 1 search made ast month for that keyword.. oh i cant really call it a keyword i mean story lol

 

Let me quote google made PR that is google work out serps.. i think people are just being stubborn regarding this because they probly cant get high PR themselves so they are saying it doesnt matter

You must work hard for PR PR7+ you will rule all keywords
